This cozy two-bedroom cottage is the perfect basecamp for exploring everything the Savannah coast has to offer. Whether you're headed to Tybee Island's sandy beaches (just 15 minutes away), spending a day wandering Savannah's famous historic squares (10 minutes), or kicking back with your pup in the fully fenced backyard, this home puts you right where you want to be.
Inside, the home is warm, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up for a relaxing stay. The downstairs master bedroom features a plush king bed with a 14-inch memory foam mattress, so you'll sleep like a dream. Step right out to the fenced backyard from the bedroom for your morning coffee in the fresh air.
Upstairs, the second bedroom offers two queen beds with matching 14-inch memory foam mattresses, making it ideal for families, friends, or anyone who appreciates extra sleeping space.
The full kitchen is ready for everything from a quick breakfast to a home-cooked dinner. You'll find all the essentials including a coffee maker, cookware, dishes, and utensils. Counter-height stools provide a casual breakfast bar for morning bites, and a small dining table near the laundry room offers additional seating. A compact workspace near the kitchen is set up for anyone who needs to hop on a laptop during their stay.
The home has in-unit washer and dryer, a smart TV with streaming apps, and driveway parking for 2 cars.

*Note: A few things we want you to know upfront so there are no surprises: the home is located in a residential neighborhood directly behind Thunderbolt Elementary School. The school has several portable classroom buildings (modular units used as classrooms, not residential trailers) visible from the front yard. During the school year, you may hear the sounds of children playing at recess on weekday mornings. On weekends, evenings, holidays, and during summer break, the school grounds are quiet. We believe in complete transparency so you can make the best booking decision for your trip. Many of our guests actually enjoy the quiet neighborhood setting and find the school proximity a non-issue, especially since most vacation time is spent exploring downtown Savannah and the beach!
The home's location in Thunderbolt is truly one of its greatest assets. You're nestled in a real Savannah neighborhood, away from the tourist crowds but just a quick drive to everything. Downtown Savannah's historic squares, restaurants, and nightlife are about 10 minutes by car. Tybee Island and its beautiful beach are roughly 15 minutes in the other direction. The charming town of Thunderbolt itself has waterfront dining along the Wilmington River and the intracoastal waterway, with local favorites just minutes from your door.

Guests have full access to the entire home, including both bedrooms, the bathroom, kitchen, living area, laundry room with washer and dryer, and the fully fenced backyard.
Driveway parking is available for up to 2 vehicles. Check-in is contactless via smart lock, with your unique access code delivered prior to arrival.

The Neighborhood:
Thunderbolt is a small, tight-knit coastal town just east of downtown Savannah, situated along the scenic Wilmington River and the Intracoastal Waterway. It's a real working waterfront community with fresh seafood restaurants, shrimp boats, and beautiful water views, all within a few minutes of your door.
The town center has local dining spots perfect for a casual waterfront dinner. From the house, downtown Savannah's historic district is roughly a 10-minute drive, giving you easy access to River Street, Forsyth Park, City Market, and the famous squares. Tybee Island and its beautiful public beach are about 15 minutes in the opposite direction, making this home an ideal midpoint between city and sand.
Bonaventure Cemetery (made famous by Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil) is just 5 minutes away. Wormsloe Historic Site and its stunning live oak avenue is about 10 minutes south. Grocery stores, pharmacies, and everyday essentials are all within a short drive.
Getting Around:
Having a car is recommended for this location. Thunderbolt is a residential neighborhood, so most attractions require a short drive.
Downtown Savannah is about 10 minutes by car, and Tybee Island Beach is approximately 15 minutes.
Ride-share services (Uber and Lyft) are readily available in the area.
Driveway parking for 2 vehicles is included with your stay, free of charge.
Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV) is approximately 25 minutes away.
Other Things to Note:
We ask that the space, other guests, and our neighbors are treated with dignity and respect. Please respect the home and its rules. This will help us maintain peace and ensure that all of our guests have a wonderful Savannah Stay!
Please be aware that even though we spray for bugs on a quarterly basis, you might see palmetto bugs, wasps, and other insects during your stay. They usually come out to die, but please do your best to keep them out of the house by keeping the windows and doors shut at all times, only eating at the bar or the dining area, and keeping trash in the trash can.
Guests sleeping upstairs will have to climb 16 steps to reach the bedroom. The upstairs bedroom does not have a door separating it from the stairwell. And all guests will share the downstairs bathroom.

We live close by, so we are available to our guests day and night. You are welcome to reach us via the app or by calling us anytime. We are here for you!
You are set up for self-check-in. The codes and instructions will be sent to you via the app’s message inbox at 3 pm on your arrival day. It is important that you visit the check-in guide and the Guest App (link sent via message after booking) for step-by-step instructions on accessing the property.
You can park up to two cars on the driveway and one car on the street directly in front of the property. Please do not park on the grass or in front of someone else’s home.
The space is dog-friendly only. Our pet fee is $50 per day, per dog. This helps us maintain the space at a high level of cleanliness while accepting fur friends. Note: ESAs also pay a pet fee.
