Satilla River Overlook

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful river retreat. The house sits directly on the Satilla River in SE Georgia. The Satilla is a beautiful river with white sandbars, great fishing, and lots of nature to enjoy. It is a relatively shallow river perfect for canoes, kayaks, or small boats. Short drive to the Okefenokee Swamp Park. Saint Simons and Jekyll Island beaches are within 45 minutes. The property is 1 hour and 15 minutes from both Jacksonville, Florida and Savannah, Georgia.

Enjoy our ~2000 ft2, 3 bedroom, 2-1/2 bath home. It is an inverted floor plan with the living and dining area on the top floor. The sun porch has a wonderful view of the Satilla River.

Large 20X40 deck, Gazebo overlooking the river, and a shared boat ramp at the corner of the property are some of the many amenities.

There is a county-maintained boat ramp in close proximity to the property which is useful for launching boats on trailers.

The property is perfect for fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and nature watching.

Please note:
The water in the home is provided by a deep well on the property. It is perfectly safe to drink, but sometimes has a slight sulfur odor.

We are located approximately 10 miles from the nearest store, so it’s recommended that you pick up your supplies on the way in. You will need to travel on dirt roads (approximately 3 miles) to access the property. The roads are county maintained and generally in good condition. Please be sure that you are comfortable with this and that your vehicle is capable off pavement.

The home is a 50-year-old river cabin. We put a lot of effort into making sure it is clean and properly maintained. However, it is an older home and has its quirks.
