RVA offers Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort. Located beach front on beautiful Longboat Key, this resort offers all the amenities of a large hotel with the privacy and seclusion that has Silver Sands guests returning each year. Relax on our private beach, walk on our soft white sand, take a dip in our heated beachside pool, or enjoy a complimentary chaise lounge and beach umbrella while breathing in the fresh salt-water air. Practice your golf game on our putting green or relax on our beautiful beach with your favorite novel. Wireless Internet access is available in the privacy of your individual unit, at the garden area or on the pool deck.



Limited Membership Privileges: Guests of Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort #255A will have temporary membership privileges at Cedars Tennis Resort located at 645 Cedars Court on Longboat Key. The limited temporary membership allows the guest access to fully-lit Har-Tru tennis and pickleball courts (after 1 p.m. daily and subject to availability), community bicycles, fishing pier and Jr. Olympic heated swimming pool. The guest will also have access to the community fitness center.



Accommodations: Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort is a relaxing retreat located directly on the Gulf of Mexico on the northern-end of Longboat Key. Choose from our various unit styles including hotel rooms, one- and two-bedroom garden view units, and one- and two-bedroom beach front units.

The communication was excellent and the staff very friendly. I would recommend this stay for anyone requiring a small room with easy beach access. My only negative was that the bathroomneeds updating. Overall this is a great location for beach lovers!

A quiet getaway

This was a solo mom-cation. The room was clean and well stocked. The bathroom had fresh towels. I was seconds from sitting on the beach with a cold beer and no kids. It was perfect.

Love the location

You really can’t beat the location. Right on the beach and walkable to a few restaurants that were great. The studio we rented was just too tight for us. We didn’t think about having to wash dishes in the bathroom sink. We will stay at this resort again but in a one bedroom.

They have done a remarkable job with the cleanup after the storm but there were a few maintenances issues that had to brought to their attention. Once they were notified, they did resolve all our issues.

Perfect Getaway #2

This place is amazing!! We love it here. This is our 2nd year coming and both times were perfect. Wonderful property with Wonderful view and right at the beach. They provide beach equipment plus have mini golf, shuffleboard, and a heated pool which makes it more nice. Quiet peaceful little island and everyone is soooo friendly. The lady at the office is always really nice and helpful. Just mins away from Bradenton and Sarasota. We had a perfect week there again and will definitely be back next year. Perfect place for all ages. Dont come here if its hard for you to leave and go back home bc this place will make you wanna stay!!!

Best Kept Secret - Best Beach in Florida!

We stayed in 4 different rooms, with 14 family members. Staff was WONDERFUL, as was the beach. The pool bottom was a little rough, and we had two broken light fixtures, and a frying pan that was not very good. But we wouldn't change our mind to return over and over again. We first stayed there when my daughter was 3, and we now took our Grandsone who is 1. You will not be disappointed, Other than the grocery store, we never went anywhere~

Nice place for a fantastic getaway

Silver Sands was a great place for us to stay for our Longboat Key getaway! My only complaint would be that it would have been nice for housekeeping to come in at least once for what we paid. Otherwise, yes, we would certainly stay here again!

A gem of a property but an old unit

Silver Sands is right on the beach , it’s “old Florida” You have access to Cedars East, with free bikes, (however, they did not honor them for us and pool , tennis and Pickleball courts . The office manager Margaret is wonderful, responsive and helpful. The room needs updates: the shower grout is old and moldy, the toilet seat had wear marks ,mattress is hard and old, there is a loud wall unit for HVAC . That said I would stay again at the property just not in this unit.

Adequate unit for short term stay.

Unit needs updating. Bedding was plain sheets and a blanket in-between. Bathroom had poor lighting and an old shower. Mirror was so low anyone over 5’5” couldn’t use it. Air conditioning was loud. Pool & beach were excellent..

Not a great experience for us .

First of all we arrived at 4:30 and the front desk was already closed. We wanted to get there as early as possible to make sure our room was ok. The room smelt like musty, moldy basement, the room is very small and dark, not as bright as the photo shows. No place to put your suitcases or anything, just a few drawers. We turn the air conditioner down, thinking it was just damp from being shut up or something went and bought scencies and such to help. The next morning, we went down to talk to the lady at the front desk and here She leaves an hour early every day due to traffic I feel like we should have gotten a notification about that. When we told her about the smelly room, all she said was that’s too bad, and there were no other rooms because they were booked didn’t even act concerned we were hoping it would’ve cleared up but discovered that night it was the air conditioner. My husband cleaned out the filter and everything. It was disgusting. When we asked the lady where we could eat, she said there was nothing on longboat key that we had to go into Annamarie Island or Sarasota, which was not true, we found out from other people there were several places to eat-within walking distance.. as of right now traveling into Annamarie Island was a nightmare. There is construction going on everywhere so traffic is very slow. The beaches were absolutely amazing white powdery, sand, and very quiet. Would not return to this Silver Sands again, but maybe other rooms were better.

Room was not thoroughly clean when we arrived. Spill on floor not mopped up. Towel hanging on back of bathroom door from former occupant. Freezer had melted red in freezer and refrigerator was not cleaned. Blood on mattress pad. Housekeeping did come to try to rectify but not acceptable from the beginning.

ROOM 255A HOUSEKEEPING?

THE PROS: The beach is awesome. The pool is well-maintained, as are the grounds and exterior of buildings. The room was clean and had: coffee maker, toaster, microwave, mini fridge/freezer and blender, as well as tableware. The mattress and pillows were very comfortable. Bed linens and towels were of fine quality. THE CONS: The room is claustrophobic in size, with not a single comfortable chair or loveseat. There was a wooden chair that appeared to be a rescue from Salvation Army, a postage stamp sized high-top table with two stools. The seats of the stools had the tops of the legs protruding above the level of the rattan seats, so they dug into your backsides or thighs painfully. Bring your own coffee for the coffee maker, as it was never replenished on a daily basis. Bring your own ice for the blender, since the small ice tray in the freezer did't hold enough ice for a single margarita. Bring your own maid to straighten out your room, because we never saw the Mary's Maids we believed would do that. If you are older and not good with stairs, don't get a room on the second floor--no elevators. Other than that it was fine.
