RVA offers Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort. Located beach front on beautiful Longboat Key, this resort offers all the amenities of a large hotel with the privacy and seclusion that has Silver Sands guests returning each year. Relax on our private beach, walk on our soft white sand, take a dip in our heated beachside pool, or enjoy a complimentary chaise lounge and beach umbrella while breathing in the fresh salt-water air. Practice your golf game on our putting green or relax on our beautiful beach with your favorite novel. Wireless Internet access is available in the privacy of your individual unit, at the garden area or on the pool deck.

Lovely property

If you are looking for a quiet getaway, this is your place. Located right on the beach. Beautiful heated pool. Everything I needed for my 4 night stay. I took a 3 mile drive to Coquina beach and took the free ferry out to the pier. Sarasota is a short drive south and there were lots of cute shops. Great place, I would definitely return.

AC move and Extra people

Upon arrival we were shocked at the size of the room for the price paid. But then, the AC was not working and we were told nothing could be done unless we called the after hours line. ( we were also told the room was cooling....NOT) We called and then were called back and told to move to another room. We packed with no help and moved to a much nicer roomier room. More of what we had expected. The wall unit was replaced and were told to pack up again and move. We did. We had no help moving and nothing offered for the inconvenience. The room, for the price was not at all what was expected and Customer Service was lacking.

Amazing, beautiful, private beach!

We decided to get away from the crowds and traffic on Anna Maria Island this year and head south to Longboat Key. The beach is amazing, the grounds are well-kept, and the other guests were quiet and polite. We only have 3 suggestions: 1) If you are staying for longer than one night, we suggest you rent a one bedroom unit with a lanai. The hotel room unit is on the small size, and there is nowhere to dry swimsuits and beach towels. We wll definitely upgrade to a one bedroom next visit! 2) There were not enough functioning beach umbrellas for all the guests, and 3) VRBO advertised daily maid service, which is not the case. Other than these issues, we had a marvelous time, and we will definitely stay again (but we will bring our own beach umbrella with us next trip!)

Great Experience

Extremely clean property and incredible convenience with beach just a walk away. The only thing we would change is getting a different unit than 241A. The air conditioner gets cold but sounds like a 747 is landing in your room - needs to be replaced. Also we would definitely go with a bigger room next time that had a kitchen although the description of our room was absolutely spot on and we knew the layout in advance. Ryne was very helpful and always responded quickly when we had any questions.

Nice basic place to stay on Longboat Key

It's on the beach, very nice. The pool is very clean and well-maintained. The parking is easy, room was very clean. Basic. The location is great in proximity to restaurants and stores on the key (it's only 7 miles long altogether). It's also away from some of the larger condos on the beach, more in a residential area, so less people. It was totally quiet. Small dings: The wall AC unit was kind of noisy, but not much more so than usual for this sort of room. Some of the property is a little rough, like the palm-thatched picnic tables by the beach. Who would like it: If you like beautiful beaches and older 50s style accommodations, you would like this place. If you are willing to accept a few rough edges for a reasonable cost of staying. Who should stay away: The super picky. Spend 3X as much and go somewhere else. Those who like to make lots of noise. Go to Siesta Key instead.

Longboat key getaway

The property was well maintained. The staff were more than pleseant. The area of the island is very quiet. Its a great get away spot to relax , lay by the pool or walk the beach. You cant really go wrong in longboat key. I would definately recommend this destination.

Quiet and Peaceful

Loved the area and the beach. Plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas for everyone. Would love to see an ice machine but was told it would make bacteria so couldn't have one. What about bags of ice in an ice chest at the office?

Silver sands

We have stayed here quite a bit over the years it’s a great location and we love the privacy of the beach . Just had some concerns on the overall room , the shower drain didn’t drain , toilet wouldn’t stop running , bed was super hard and uncomfortable. The location is great just wish the rooms got the maintenance and much needed updating. We keep coming back for the location but the rooms are starting to show wear and tear of popular demand .

room was very clean and readily available. small and dark lacking lights and ability to see. Pool and other outside areas were very well done and again very clean. the most positive is that it is Gulf and beach accessible and very clean and well kept in all areas.

Good Location, Small Room

Silver Sands is a good location for quiet walks and sunset watching. The room lacked, well, room! The bathroom was small but adequate. The room itself had a comfortable bed, but nowhere to sit with a cup of coffee and read a book. The location had other rooms that appeared to be larger, with screened in porches, as well as full kitchens, but our room did not. If we go back, we will opt for a larger, more expensive room. For what we paid, including a reservation fee and cleaning fee (for only a three night stay) it was not a good value.
