For trekking lovers there are a vast network of routes including the Via Francigena that from Aulla, Bibola, passing through Ponzano Superiore and the Castello della Brina (recently discovered archaeological site), leads up to Sarzana. Places to visit nearby, as well as Sarzana, Lerici, Portovenere, are the towns of Lunigiana and the Apuan Alps.
