Enjoy your time in Huatulco and avoid the crowds in the hotels, rent your own private apartment!

We are centrally located in Santa Cruz, the best and most convenient part of Huatulco to base yourself! Its a quick 5 minute walk to Santa Cruz beach where you can swim in the calm protected bay, enjoy beverages at one of the many restaurants or rent a kayak or paddle board to explore the bay. If you choose - you can go snorkeling or just relax on the sand on the numerous other nearby beaches they are a short and inexpensive taxi ride away.

The Penthouse apartment is over 2000 sq ft, plenty of space to for everyone to relax with extra high ceilings and plenty of natural light. It has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 living rooms (1 with a pullout couch), 4 outdoor terraces (2 large and 2 small), a fully equipped kitchen and laundry room.

**In 2023 we upgraded the internet to high speed Starlink internet. No more slow WIFI or outages that typical in the area**

Located on the top floor of a 3 level building, It has high ceilings and good air flow that keep the apartment cool. Each bedroom has a ceiling fan & air conditioning if you need to cool off. Please not the living room and dining room area is cooled by ceiling fans and does not have AC.

There are numerous beach clubs with pool access within a 10 min walk of the building that fit a variety of budgets. If you prefer the pool to the ocean you have the best of both worlds!

Huatulco is in the border of Sierra Madre mountains and has 9 bays and 32 pristine beaches. It is a relaxed destination, with a focus on sustainability and environmentally friendly practices. In 2005, Huatulco was the first community in the Americas to be awarded the Green Globe International Certification as a sustainable tourist area.

To get to Huatulco:

From Canada
in the winter season there are many direct & charter flights from Canada; WestJet, Air Canda, Air-Transat, are a few companies operating these. seasonal routes.

From within Mexico
It's a 1 hour flight from Mexico City, options include Volaris, Vivaaerobus, Magnicharters and Aeromexico. Tijuana & Monterrey also have direct flights to Huatulco.

From the US
There are direct flights from Dallas on American Airlines as well as season routes from Chicago on Volaris Airlines.

From the airport to the house it is a 20 min taxi ride.

Great vacation in Huatulco

We had a small glitch on check in just getting keys but the host was quick once we got a hold of her.This location is perfect lots of shops Restrauntā€™s and the beach is a short walk away. We very much enjoyed our stay and Norma was quick to reply to any of our needs .Would definitely stay here again. Even the dreaded stair case that was mentioned was not that bad.

Exactly what our group wanted

This penthouse is large! 2 living areas and a big dining area. We had so much space. Literally a few minutes from the beach. The Holiday Inn is right next door but extremely quiet. Nice bar and food. The only real noise from the street is the party buses but that is to be expected. We only fixed our breakfast in the kitchen. Found everything we needed. Norma is a great host!

Excellent accommodations. Lots of different spaces for everyone. Multiple balconies. AC works really well in each room. 3 flights of winding staircase but itā€™s part of the charm. Norma responds quickly to any concerns. We would stay again.

What a wonderful place! Large, airy beautiful apartment perfect for our family of 6. Super close to everything - the beach, shops, amazing street food vendors plus an amazing little taco right below. We cooked some great meals in the big kitchen. Norma was always available via email to answers questions, make suggestions and provide anything that was needed. Santa Cruz was great and felt very safe, our 3 teens were out and about on their own with no problems. We rented a car for exploring and parked on the street with no issue. Just a note that you are in the middle of town and the nighttime party buses can be pretty loud! We loved this place and would return without question.

Chris met us as we arrived, couldn't have been an easier or quicker check in process. Thx place is a gorgeous, authentically Mexican styled, open concept, private, breezy, nice lighting options, AC, excellent WiFi (though, who cares?!), bird song when you wake, sounds of nightlife (not very late), excellent proximity to the ocean, to the Chedraui,to townships, to other beaches with brilliant opportunities for snorkeling, scuba diving (Anfibios), swimming, paddleboarding.... loved every minute. Hated to leave. Excellent hosts, excellent abode. Can't say enough. Go enjoy!!!

Fantastic, but loud Vacation

Property is spacious and as described. Plenty of space for two families of three. Within walking distances of area resources and town center. Heat made us use local taxi. Norma and Chris were quick to respond to any issues we had. They even assisted with search for medical supplies; facilitating a amazon purchase and delivery. It went above and beyond support for vacation. Unfortunately, trip overlapped ā€˜Carnavalā€™, first since COVID. Although we witnessed unanticipated rich local customs and practices, we were also intimately exposed to five days of little sleep. Third floor view of grounds with Music & Barkers, concerts and celebrants) was challenging. Chris and Norma were apologetic about unanticipated scope of events. No information was available online . We would suggest avoiding property, unless planning to attend the events. Wifi speeds for Remote work was not available available. Desk space was not ideal. Overall we would recommend, property, hosts were wonderful.

Outstanding locale for us - family of 6 adults. Loved the bird-filled park/square across the street, and 1/2 hr walk to La Crucecita. So many semi (and totally) deserted gorgeous beaches within relatively short drives and hikes. The apartment is great, albeit a serious challenge for the mobility impaired. Comfortable beds, great amenities and great communication w Chris/Norma. Pretty noisy at night, although this may be reflective of Christmas holiday. In a word - fabulous! Would definitely return.

From first contact with the fabulous host Norma to our check out- this place did not disappoint! The location was excellent! The penthouse was spacious clean and comfy. There was nothing that we needed that wasnā€™t in the unit. Canā€™t say enough great things about this place or the host!!

Our host Norma was available to us for every query and help. The location was perfect and the spacious size with four bedrooms was just what we needed for our family get away. As the penthouse is old and authentic Mexican, some updates will be required but we were comfortable and happy.

Lots of Space, Great Location

The condo is huge and capable of sleeping 8 -10 people. It's on the third floor of a mixed use building in Santa Cruz. The condo is dated but has everything you need. Access can be a challenge as there is no lift and you must navigate a very tight circular staircase to get to the unit. There are not really any views as the other buildings block any sight lines save a few. The TV and internet were a constant issue. Many hours were spent without either as the service (?) in the area is so poor. The host did hire a service tech to stop by and fix but there really was no fix. Internet in other nearby locations was better (eg. Holiday Inn lobby next door). This was the biggest problem we had. The hot water was broken for 10 days of our visit but the host got it fixed as fast as possible (10 days). The neighbourhood people were pleasant and helpful. Area can be noisy at night as it's in such a popular location (people and cars). Perfect for the four of us as we each had our own bedroom. So great for larger groups. If internet and TV are important to you please discuss this matter with the host before booking. The host was pleasant to deal with and wanted our stay to be enjoyable. Host was willing to work with us during Covid times when the cancellation policy had to be more liberal.

Beautiful, spacious home with great view and location

My family of 7 stayed at this beautiful home. Very spacious with many rooms and bathrooms! Enjoyed the location because we could walk to the beach, plaza, or take a quick taxi ride to crucecita. Our flight arrived few minutes early and Norma was able to get the property manager to open for us so we didnā€™t have to wait. I enjoyed my stay and will return! Thank you Norma!

It was horrible we left after the 3 day and checked into the books at inn next door.

Our stay was horrible blood stains sheets and pillows and when I showed Romnel he said they were washed just stains. Idk who would want to spend their vacation to sleep in some strangers blood stains pillow and sheets. The air conditioner in master did not work at all and it leeks and ruins a good portion of my clothing. Also the kitchen is invested with ants. I called norm told her I was leaving after day 3 the conditions were so horrible she apologized and promised to refund my money but never has and will not respond to my emails. Also shower is either super hot or freezing cold there was no in between. We finished the rest of our stay at a nearby hotel.

Norma, notre propriĆ©taire, bien que rĆ©sidant Ć  Vancouver, s'est toujours souciĆ©e de notre bien-ĆŖtre. Rommel, son homme de confiance sur place, nous a Ć©galement facilitĆ© notre installation. Nous n'avons pas eu besoin de faire appel Ć  lui au cours du mois oĆ¹ nous occupions le condo (fĆ©vrier), mais il aurait Ć©tĆ© disponible, et avec le sourire. La literie est excellente (cĆ“tĆ© Ć  ne pas nĆ©gliger, surtout pour un sĆ©jour assez long). Le seul hic: le manque de piscine. Dans une rĆ©gion chaude comme celle de Huatulco, la piscine est un gros avantage. Nous y avons supplĆ©Ć© en allant dans les piscines des environs (ChahuĆ© Bay Ć  15 minutes de marche, ou dans un hĆ“tel Ć  5 minutes de marche). Chaque fois il fallait cependant payer 100 pesos par personne. Le condo est trĆØs bien situĆ© si on veut explorer la rĆ©gion; beaucoup d'excursions sont possibles, et elles nous permettent de belles dĆ©couvertes. De mĆŖme, les diffĆ©rents services d'Ć©picerie ou autres sont trĆØs proches. En bref, un beau sĆ©jour possible. Jean-Michel Lienhardt

Casa Normita - Lovely Spacious Condo

We (4 adults) recently spent 10 days at this spacious condo. Other than the bedrooms (which are all air conditioned), the condo is completely open to the wonderful smells and sound of the ocean a short distance away. We enjoyed sitting on the deck, drinking our coffee and watching the cruise ships arrive. The beach near the condo is very nice and has many good restaurants. The recent addition of a BBQ is a great option to use for cooking dinner as the kitchen can sometimes get a little hot. There is plenty of seating, cutlery and dinnerware. There is a market and small grocery store a 2 minute walk from the condo or there are 2 large markets a 15 minute walk or a short cab ride away. As mentioned by others, you need to be able to walk 3 flights of stairs on a circular staircase... not an issue if you are reasonably fit or just take them a little slower. The stairs are also a great way to work of the 1 or 2 pina coladas you might drink on the beach. LOL. Water in Huatulco is safe to drink. We still used bottled water for drinking but used tap water for brushing teeth, washing vegetables, etc. and never once did any of us have an issue, as we have in many other places in Mexico. Norma is very responsive to emails and very accommodating to all your needs as a guest. Thanks Norma! We had several great PRIVATE tours using Arturo Martinez. VRBO will not allow me to post the URL (really... they read the reviews very closely but wonā€™t answer direct emails I send them) for his website so just google his name if youā€™re interested. During one of our tours, Arturo advised us part way through the day that he just found out there would be a turtle hatchling release that afternoon. What a wonderful surprise and experience!
