Terrible experience, no keys and not cleaned
We have stayed at many VRBO property's and never had an experience like this... We arrived to check in at 7:30 pm and had to look for the property as no one was there to greet us, when we did find the place it was locked not open as we had been told. We had to go back to the front gate and have them track down a property manager to get us a key, this took around half an hour. The manager "Freddy" arrived and then proceeded to tell us "the place had not been cleaned, and was not ready, apologizing saying he never knew we were coming". Floors were very dirty, all of the patio furniture was inside piled in the dining area, towels were hanging used in the bathroom, and dishwasher had dirty dishes in it, drinking water jug was half empty and open on the floor beside the garbage cans, old fruit on the counter....The manager did have someone clean the next day for 3 hours as my husband sat inside waiting. Lack of security, the door lock on the balcony was broken, we asked for it to be repaired, but this never happened on our stay...not great as there is no safe.
We were provided a sealed jug of drinking water and some other supplies we requested from the owner, as well as a partial reimbursement for the first night.
This experience was terrible, there seems to be a lack of good management and communication. We would suggest that management/owner reviews their arrival protocol and puts some checks in place as this is unacceptable on a VRBO platform.
