Our stay at this property on Sanibel Island was mixed. There were a few positives - the beds were decent, the air conditioning worked well, and the kitchen had the basics to cook meals. The TV setup was fine too.However, there were several serious issues that made the stay disappointing. The biggest concern was that a rat was living in the only grill, making it completely unusable (in addition to not having any gas) and raising sanitation concerns. The listing also advertised kayaks and multiple bikes, but there were no kayaks and only one bike per unit, which was misleading.The unit was also very understocked - just one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, one roll of paper towels, one dishwasher tablet, and no basic cooking items like oil, salt, or pepper. There was only one small bar of soap for two bathrooms. These are all small things individually, but together they show a lack of care for guests’ experience.Several maintenance issues also stood out: loose power outlets, exposed wires, a broken window, and a window shade that was falling down. The twin beds were unusually short, even for someone 5’10”, making them uncomfortable for adults.Finally, the photos in the listing did not match the actual unit. They appear to show a different, nicer unit - which feels misleading.Overall, this rental could be good with proper upkeep and accurate advertising, but in its current condition it falls short of expectations.
