It's located near Bowman's Beach, a favorite for locals and visitors alike, and on the Sanibel Bayous, where you can enjoy kayaking and watching Florida wildlife. Plus, it's a short bike or car ride away from famous J. N. "Ding" Darling preserve, the perfect spot for bird watching.

Blue Pelican is a 3 bedroom, 3 bath, 2230 square foot pet-friendly home. It sleeps 6-8 people, and you are welcome to bring your furry family member with prior owner approval and payment of a non-refundable pet fee. All are welcome!

Please note, all Sanibel homes are zoned by the City for minimum 28 night rentals. Exceptions cannot be made. We would love to host you at Blue Pelican when you are able to reserve 28 nights or longer!

Blue Pelican is located at the northwest end of Sanibel, in the private community of Sanibel Bayous, which is adjacent to the acclaimed sheller's and fisherman's paradise known as Bowman's Beach. We are 3 miles from the entrance to the world famous J. N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge (whose exit is across the street from the Sanibel Bayous entrance!), 2 miles from Captiva Island, and 5 miles from the heart of the island restaurants, shops, galleries, grocery and post office on Sanibel.

Blue Pelican is conveniently located near the Sanibel Bayous Community Pool and Tennis Court. You'll have your own private stepping stone path leading directly to the pool and tennis court! The outdoor heated pool features a cabana with restrooms, chaise lounge and tables with umbrellas. Settle in with a book, enjoy the tropical flora and fauna--keep your eyes open for birds, bunnies, and butterflies.

Blue Pelican's 2230 square foot floor plan offers 3 bedrooms and 3 baths under central air conditioning, a 2-car garage, game room area, and screened lanai with grill downstairs. After a day at the beach, you can rinse off at our outdoor shower, and stow your gear downstairs before heading upstairs to settle in. Complimentary beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, toys, towels, and carts are provided for your convenience.

Upstairs you will find a great room with ceramic tile throughout, sectional sofa and a coquina fireplace. The dining area seats 6 - 8 comfortably, and is part of the Great Room. The space is fantastic for gatherings big or small.

Just off of the Great Room is the kitchen, laundry and sunroom. The kitchen has every accoutrement imaginable to prepare a feast for a few or many! In addition to the granite countertops, Blue Pelican has stainless steel appliances, a cooktop peninsula, and bar seating for 3. Dishwasher tablets, dishwashing soap, paper towels, coffee filters, trash bags and basic cleaning supplies such as Windex are provided for your use.

The laundry features a side-by-side washer/dryer, and laundry detergent and dryer sheets are provided. Private housekeeping services are available if you'd like touch-up cleaning done during your stay.

The sunroom is a fantastic extension of the Great Room. The carpeted sun room has floor-to-ceiling windows that showcase the lush tropical foliage surrounding the house. The view of palm trees, flowering hibiscus shrubs, jasmine and a lush green lawn can be enjoyed from practically every vantage point. There is a leather sofa and 2 club chairs with ottomans, a breakfast table with seating for 6, and a large flat panel TV with CD/DVD/Blu-ray player.

Blue Pelican offers complimentary Wi-Fi and high speed internet, as well as satellite TV. In addition, a RING security doorbell is present, along with RING exterior floodlight cameras.

Blue Pelican features 2 Primary Suites. The carpeted North Suite features a King bed, flat panel TV, club chair, and an en-suite all-tile 5-piece bath featuring a walk-in closet, linen closet, glass shower, soaking tub, and dual vanities.

The South Suite features a carpeted bedroom with a King bed, flat panel TV, side chair, and a small Juliet balcony overlooking the back garden towards the pool and tennis court. It, too, has an en-suite all-tile 5-piece bath with dual vanities, a dressing table, shower, jetted tub, separate water closet, and walk-in closet.

The third bedroom features two Twin beds that each have a Twin trundle pull-out bed underneath, sleeping 4 in total. In addition to a flat panel TV, there is a small desk with a printer - perfect if you have to do some work while you're away from home. There is a bathroom adjacent to the twin bedroom, with a full shower, single vanity, and toilet.

Just downstairs we have a screened lanai with seating for 6. There is a propane grill, and you can pass the time while cooking your dinner by playing a game of Ring on the String. It's great fun for children and adults!

Sanibel Bayous has private, deeded beach access leading to Bowman's Beach, which is a short 10 minute walk from Blue Pelican. Bowman's Beach is well-known for its shelling beaches and the variety of fish that can be caught from the shore.

Blue Pelican is professionally managed by Cottages to Castles of Sanibel & Captiva. Since 1997, they've been making sure that each stay is a memorable one.

Your doggie is welcome at this property with prior approval of the Owner and Cottages to Castles. Payment of a non-refundable pet fee is required. The non-refundable fee is based on the length of your stay and the number of doggies in residence and/or visiting the property. Weight limit and breed restrictions may be applicable, based on the type of property rented.

Failure to disclose a doggie in residence and/or visiting the property for non-overnight stays can result in eviction and forfeiture of all prepaid funds.

Houses may be rented for any 28 days within the same calendar month. Due to online booking limitations, this property may show as unavailable for your requested dates, when it actually may indeed be available!
