Beautiful Stay

My husband and I planned a getaway for our 1 year wedding anniversary and this location was great! So quiet and relaxing. The property was clean and stocked with what we needed (toiletries). It was so peaceful and loved seeing / hearing the animals. The jacuzzi was so relaxing and well kept. And the gas grill worked properly. We didnā€™t have any contact with the host / owner. But we appreciate your property and loved our stay.

Roadside cottage in the countryside

We were fascinated to see dozens of quail outside the window of this cottage, along with sheep and two alpaca. The sound of crickets helped lull us to sleep, aided by a soak in the hot tub. Oh, and if you enjoy seeing the nightā€™s stars, youā€™re in for a treat. On moonless nights, the stars are exceptional! The cottage is spacious and well-equipped, with pots and pans, glasses and cups, utensils and coffee. Note that youā€™re in the country and there isnā€™t anything nearby to walk to. Also, although thereā€™s a reference to the two lakes, neither is visible. Also, being in the country means that the water is from a well or spring, which in case means it has many minerals, many of which we found offputting due to their strong smell and taste. Fortunately, the owner supplied us with bottled water. This place has lots of potential and could benefit from a little more attention here and there. The bedā€™s mattress felt well-used due to the rim being stable and the center being sagged. Hopefully, this will be replaced before too long to help return this cottage to a higher level. All in all, a nicely sized comfortable enough place to rest.

Awesome Cottage

This place was perfect for someone looking for a nice, clean, quiet place to stay around Paso Robles. It was about a 10 minute drive to the Lake Nacimiento Resort and about a 25 minute drive into Paso. We really enjoyed our stay here and the hot tub was great as well. We will be back.

If you are wanting a peaceful get away this is your place. I loved the birds, rabbits, squirrels, and honey bees. I also enjoyed picking fresh fruit from the trees along the path. The hospitality was amazing.

The lakeside cottage was very cute! We liked the newly updated accommodations and the animals surrounding the property made the stay more fun too! Only complaint was poor water pressure in bathroom sink and shower.

We loved the charm and location. It was very quiet and perfect for a romantic New Year's getaway. We enjoyed driving through the countryside to the wineries and then relaxing in the hot tub when we got back. Would definitely go back!

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was just as the pictures showed, small but enough room for the two of us. The hot tub was clean and we throughly enjoyed our daily soak in it. Itā€™s bit of a drive into Paso but not too bad.

Great stay!!

Me and my husband had such a great stay at the cottage! House was very clean, everything we needed. We enjoyed morning coffee on the porch taking in the beautiful scenery. The lambs were so cute! The jacuzzi was so nice after a day of wine tasting too! We will definitely be back!

Quiet Couple Time

We were in town for a family wedding and it was the perfect place to stay. It gave us the opportunity to spend some time to our selves but still close enough to make it to all the events. We loved it and would definitely stay there again.

The reviews are accurate!

My girlfriend and I had a blast at this location. Very clean, very private and beautiful views. The owner was quick to respond when I inquired about the eggs that other reviewers raved about. If you're staying in and watching Netflix it cuts out about every 30 mins but that's probably the last thing you're doing if you are coming to this location. I would highly recommend others to book this location. You won't be disappointed.

Cottage by the lake

This cottage is a clean modern quiet stay. It was my husband and I and we had the privacy we needed. Hot tub and fire outside was very relaxing for my husbandā€™s getaway birthday. Another plus was how close the lake is and the location isnā€™t to far from wineries. We also requested some fresh eggs in which they were able to deliver the next morning for breakfast, thank u Nate! Overall great stay and would return again!

Lovely Stay near Lake Nacimento/Paso Robles

Alan was a terrific host. He made our stay most enjoyable. He provided us with fresh eggs from the chickens and allowed us privacy. Beautiful studio amongst the stars

We could not be happier with our stay at this beautifully built and decorated studio. It felt like we were in our own little world and the stars at night where more amazing then we have ever seen. The owner dropped off farm fresh eggs in the morning that were delicious. This is a great location between 2 lakes and an hour from the coast so we hit them all in our short weekend even though it was the winter too. This place actually inspired us to have a place like this on our property one day with the orchards like they have. We highly recommend this place. Especially if you want to escape the city (like us) and just breathe and hear beautiful silence. The hot tub in the privately fence in back yard area was perfect as well. We used the gas grill and fire table too. The furniture is all great outside and inside too. Just a perfect little place for us and our 2 kids! Thank you!!!

Perfect stay!

The studio is just beautiful, a really well designed, comfortable, clean, light & bright space. Alan was very communicative and made sure I had everything I needed. I was also there for my birthday, and Alan gifted me with some goodies from the farm. Such wonderful hospitality! Itā€™s a very peaceful place, and I enjoyed watching the sunsets over the hills from the back patio. I cannot wait to go back.

A Perfect Spot of A Getaway

We had an absolutely phenomenal time at this property! The owners are so sweet and were so welcoming. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub under the stars at night. We even got to pick fruit and nuts on the property! The place was immaculately clean and even had my husband and I thinking we could totally live in a studio/tiny house! We are already making plans to come back!

Just what hoped for

The Cottage at the Lakes was just as described and pictured online. Alan was super accommodating and even greeted us with a ā€œ6 packā€ (of eggs laid by his hens that morning!). The cottage is beautiful inside. We enjoyed the sunset each evening with a glass of wine on the back patio and then the hot tub under the stars on the front patio. In the mornings, it was cool enough for a blanket while I enjoyed my coffee. We went paddle boarding at Lake San Antonio and enjoyed Alanā€™s recommendation of going to the sandy beaches at Harris Creek. We have three kids and weā€™re hoping for a quiet, restful weekend (with no kids!) and we got exactly what we hoped for!

Amazing!

Alan and Pamela are amazing! Alan brought over some fresh eggs from ā€œthe ladiesā€ which are situated on the property along with some freshly picked apricots. The property is great, very quiet and peaceful. We took our two boys (2 and 5) on many nature walks. We picked plums and found squirrels - they had a great time. The jacuzzi water was crystal clear and very clean. We used it every night. The drive to lake nacimento main launch was about 10 minutes or so. Definitely worth the trip. We rented a slip just to make life a little easier but the parking area is huge you can easily keep a boat directly on site. Alan is very responsive and easy going - he made us feel at home with over-the-top hospitality. Will 100% be returning and would 100% recommend.

Perfect getaway

This place is perfect if you want to escape from a big city, but want to have facilities(ex. good grocery store) not far. I would say that this house is perfect for 2 people. Evenings on the terrace with a glass of wine, days on the amazing lakes which are in 5 min ride. But we were with 2 kids =) And I must say that it was great too! Kids fell in love with this house, garden, chickens, and of cause nature around! About the house: It looks like new, it is spacious and so cozy, has a terrace and patio area. Cozy terrace with view on the backyard, morning coffee there is awesome! Kids liked to watch the wild nature there. Great patio with rest area, bbq, firepit and jacuzzi. We put the tent there and kids were so happy. It was the first camp experience for them. Marshmello and sky full of stars =) Oh, stars are the astonishing there! Thanks to the householder for showing chickens and their house for kids. Also great thanks for provided SUPs. We spend an awesome day on the Nacinento Lake on these paddleboards. So, it is a great place for a couple or family. We are hoping to come there again and spend more time there because 3 days passed too fast!
