There is great snorkeling nearby at Seven Seas beach, Fajardo, world class surfing (in season) at La Selva Beach, Racetracks and Uluwatu off the Fajardo lighthouse. Casa Novas sits at the very beginning of the eastern ecological corridor, which spans 5-7 miles of undeveloped, virgin coastal forest. Las Cabezas de San Juan reserve in Fajardo boasts miles of solitary coastal trails, and a bioluminescent bay where nighttime tours in kayak can be arranged. Less than a 5 minute drive from the house there are major supermarkets, pharmacies (Walgreens) San Pablo Hospital, a US Post Office, medical offices, seaside restaurants, and of course the famous Luquillo Beach seaside kiosks (over 50 kiosks) serving up local fare, conch and cod fritters, fried fish, ceviche, and plenty of cold cervezas.
