Summary:
The Mexico you pictured before you ever booked a flight. Casa La Roca is a traditional hacienda-style villa above the Sea of Cortez in San José del Cabo — thick walls, hand-finished details, quiet courtyards, and an ocean view that runs the full length of the horizon. Set on double lots in a gated neighborhood, it's a two-hour flight from California and a world away from it.
The Space:
Casa La Roca was built in the old Baja style and recently taken down to the bones — all-new infrastructure, plumbing, and systems — so the character is authentic and everything works. Three bedrooms: two king suites with private en-suite baths, a queen bedroom, and a sofa bed for extra guests. Fully equipped kitchen, in-home washer and dryer.
The best hours here are the unplanned ones. The house is full of small shaded nooks — a bench in the courtyard, a corner of the terrace that catches the early light — the kind of spots where you take your coffee at seven and look up two hours later.
Sitting on double lots means rare privacy and an unobstructed ocean view. The private pool and lounge terrace are made for long afternoons, with a palapa for shade and sunset cocktails. During whale season the water in front of the house comes alive — guests regularly count dozens of whales in a single day without leaving the terrace.
You're minutes from Flora Farms, Acre, and Cabo's best tables, but well away from the crowds of the hotel zone. Guests also enjoy a private beach club with pool, restaurant, bar, gym, and beachfront access — resort amenities without the resort.
Airport pickup, boat charters, and beach BBQs can be arranged. Need more room? We have a one-bedroom bungalow on-site and a four-bedroom home minutes away in the same neighborhood.
Guest Access:
Guests have the entire home. A second home sits within the same gated lot, but the two are fully separate — no shared indoor or outdoor living space. Guests also have access to the private beach club a short walk or drive away, with a pool, beach access, restaurant and bar, and gym.
The Neighborhood:
Laguna Hills is a gated community on one of the most desirable stretches of coastline in San José del Cabo — a mile up the beach from the Ritz, same scenery, quieter mood. Within five miles: Flora Farms, Acre, Nao, Rubas, Lumbre, and Kitchen. Downtown San José is a short drive, with galleries, shops, cafes, and the Thursday Art Walk. The beach club is a 10-minute walk or 2-minute drive. The streets here are made for morning walks and evening views.

A private driver can be arranged at additional cost. Uber is available in the area.
