Hotel charmoso
O hotel é muito agradável, com ambientes diferenciados que dão mais charme ao mesmo. Restaurante com música ao vivo todas as noites, adorei. Comida muito boa, a cachupa é inesquecível. Funcionários muito simpáticos e agradáveis. Com bastante segurança. Voltarei com certeza. Recomendo vivamente

Em termos de Hotel muito fraca: pequeno almoço de fraca qualidade + cadeiras de praia pagas + no final hotel não disponibiliza nem se presta a ajudar quanto à emissão de recibo !!!! A não repetir !!!

A estadia foi curta, apenas um dia, porém o fato de acordar duas vezes durante a noite com baratas em cima da minha cama comprometeram totalmente a avaliação do hotel. Além disso os horários de atendimento dos restaurantes são bastante limitados.

Et særdeles velbeliggende hotel
Odjo d'Agua er et smukt hotel beliggende direkte til stranden med en dejlig udsigt over stranden ved det centrale Santa Maria. Betjeningen er venlig og professionel. Balkonerne med deres hængekøjer passer fremragende til stilen. Eneste to minusser er at stranden er lidt bedre tættere på molen (ingen sten - man kan dog blot gå 150 m), og kokken kunne være skarpere.

Probably the best Hotel in Santa Maria, situated on the beach front, and close to the town, everything thats anything is in walking distance. Spoil yourself, great value and cheery, helpful staff.

Un jour seulement dans cet hôtel mais se fut agréable. Hôtel très bien situé sur la plage le cadre de l'hôtel est magnifique, je recommande vivement cet hôtel.

Not quite what we expected from a junior suite. Not much water under the shower with few warm water. It always changed between cold and warm. We couldn't stay longer in our room and didn't get another (smaller room) although we were obligated to stay until 10pm as our flight was at night. So we "lost" a day... The staff was always friendly but never too engaged. After 2 weeks cape verde the menu at the restaurant and breakfast was not so varied.

Real guest house for real people
We must admit that we were a bit sceptic when we arrived, but soon fell in love with the guest house and it's staff,owner and Toby. The owner really cares about the locals and they care a lot about him and his guest house. If you you have an open mind and like to meet local people this is the place to stay. Would like to recommend a fishing trip with Lima and Milo (best barbecue seafood as a bonus) Thank you Francois for keeping it real. Best regards stiff Norwegians

perfect hotel.!
this was a fabulous hotel. clean room, safe(traveling alone), helpful staff, and the location was fantastic.beach and pool were terrific. the restaurant was superb. full breakfast(included), and the lunch/. dinner menu was outstanding. a gem of a hotel!

Une très mauvaise surprise...
Ayant réservé dans l'hôtel de charme, nous avons été désagréablement relogés dans un studio d'une résidence attenante qui n'avait rien d'un hôtel de charme.... Nos notes reflètent donc celle de cette résidence d'un moins bon standing. Sans en avoir été informés avant notre arrivée, sans discussion possible avec l'accueil de l'odjo d'agua

Mooie ligging
We hebben hier aan het begin en einde van onze rondreis drie dagen gelogeerd. Ligt in het dorp Santa Maria. Kamers zijn netjes en worden dagelijks schoongemaakt. Klein terrasje (met hangmat). Wij hadden uitzicht op een mooie binnenplaats (kamer 409). Zwembad is vrij klein maar het was er nooit druk. Ik had wel het idee dat de pomp (schoonmaak) alleen in de ochtend even aan stond, de rest vn de dag niet. Dat is een kweekbak voor bacteriën! Strandje ligt vol met stenen maar op 10 minuten lopen ligt een prachtig zandstrand. Ontbijt is erg uitgebreid. Restaurant voor diner is goed maar prijzen zijn behoorlijk hoog, bijna Nederlandse prijzen. Er zijn echter genoeg restaurants in de buurt.

Great beach hotel
We just got back from a great stay with no complaints at the Odjo d'Agua. The hotel is clean and comfortable and the staff friendly...we also had a friendly little kitten that visited our room every day. :-) The location was perfect - great views from the restaurant/lounge area, right on the beach with nice beach bar, and close to town and any other Santa Maria activities. All the Santa Maria and beach bars and restaurants are just a short walk away. We arrived early so our room wasn't ready yet (we probably waited for about an hour), but we were offered free drinks and didn't mind waiting in the sunny outside lounge. Our room had 2 twin beds instead of a double which wasn't ideal, but I think you can upgrade for an extra cost if you prefer. We only had breakfast at the hotel (which was always nice), but the view from the restaurant is great so would recommend it for lunch or dinner. You need to pay (2 euros, and a 20 euro deposit if you want to rent a towel) to use the chairs on the beach, but at the pool it's free. We brought our own towels and just laid on the beach (the same place where the chairs are anyway) and it was perfectly fine. There's also a scuba diving school/company affiliated with the hotel that was offering free trial lessons in the pool which was fun. Would definitely recommend this hotel and Sal/Santa Maria!

Perfect spot
This charming hotel is in the perfect location on this dry tropical island. Breakfast and dinner were fresh and tasty; live music in the evening was a perfect blend of local and portuguese songs; staff were friendly and helpful.

Wunderschöne Hotelanlage direkt am Meer
Wir haben den Aufenthalt im Odjo d Agua Hotel sehr genossen. Die Anlage liegt direkt am Meer, der hoteleigene Strand mit Liegestühlen und Sonnenschirmen lud jeden Tag zum Sonnenbaden ein. Wir freuten uns jeden Morgen über das reichhaltige Frühstücksbuffet auf der Terasse direkt über dem Meer und liebten es, am Strand entlang zu schlendern und Land und Leuten zu begegnen. Ich würde das Hotel jedem weiterempfeheln.

Tolles Hotel in super Lage. Ich war extrem zufrieden mit dem Hotel in allen belangen. Die Jungs an der Beach Bar (Thomas und Emerson) waren extrem hilfreich und machen einen super Job. Nochmals Danke.

Die Lage der Zimmer macht alles kaputt
Als wir spät in der Nacht ankamen und unsere Zimmer bezogen freuten wir uns, wir hörten das Meer rauschen und der Eingang zum Zimmer verspach vieles. Das Zimmer war ohne Beanstandung und als ich die hintere Tür öffnete in Erwartung des Meeres kam der Schock. die ganze Breite des Zimmers war eingemauert wie ein übergrosser Balkon und darüber war der Himmel vergittert. Da wir Meerseite gebucht hatten ging ich sofort reklamieren. Man vertröstete uns auf den nächsten Tag. Als ich am nächsten Tag die Hotelanlage studierte bemerkte ich, dass das Hotel von anderen Gebäuden umgeben ist und nur das Restaurant toll am Meer gelegen ist. Ganz wenige Zimmer waren dann noch auf Strand gerichtet alle anderen waren ummauert wie das Unsrige oder dick mit Läden geschlossen, da sich dahinter die Gassen der Stadt befanden. Für die wirklich tolle Anlage und das Hotel selbst eine Riesenschande was alles kabutt macht. Für einen längeren Urlaub würde man in den dunklen Zimmer versauern muss man doch die Vorhänge ziehen, da alle Leute durch den Vorhof gehen. Sehr schade für dieses Hotel, denn das Restaurant und das Essen ist Super.

Excellent location with superb views
I booked this hotel based on previous reviews and it did not disappoint.. The staff were very courteous on arrival and for the duration of the stay. The room, whilst spacious could have benefited from a couple of casual chairs. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom more than adequate (although the hot water supply was a bit erratic). Breakfast was good, although it could have been a bit more varied. The backdrop and vista from the dining area was superb and was one of the highlights of the holiday. The location of the hotel to the beaches could not be beaten anywhere and was literally two minutes walk from the reastaurants and town.

Nice hotel w some frills, beware the extra charges
Generally, a pleasant hotel with pleasant staff and quite quaint furnishings/decoration. The downside is mainly the extra additional charges for things you would normally expect to pay for only in budget hotels and this is not a budget hotel. The deck chair costs 2 euros a day and the umbrella costs 2 euros a day (indeed separate charges for the two). The beach towel or more like the towel for the deck chair requires a deposit of 20 euros. There is also a charge for the use of the safe, and the standard starters they serve for dinner - feta cheese, olives and bread are extra charges too. Otherwise, the seafood served at the restaurant is excellent. The buffet breakfast is not great but adequate. I ended up not using the safe but made a point not to leave behind any valuables in the room so conspicuously. While I would have preferred having a spot in the sun away from the beach bar where it was less crowded, this was where it was less windy; and man, was it really windy there! I had a massage everyday except when the spa was closed (on a Thursday) because it was that good!

Odjo D´Agua -stylish and friendly
Ideally located on the beach and - at the same time - in the center of Sta. Maria, where most of the action is, scenic layout with beautiful sea-views. Very helpful reception staff. Nice breakfast with good choice of items. Big library of second-hand books. But pool water much too cold, and too much chlorine ! My room ( by the patio ) was made up only in the afternoon - which deprived me of a siesta. Altogether: a pleasant hotel to return to and to recommend.

Confirmed booking, but no room at the inn.
I booked this hotel for my wife to have a week of peace and quiet by herself after a really traumatic period in our lives - death of teenage daughter, huge fire at our business premises and a major illness and operation requiring six weeks in a French hospital after an emergency hysterectomy during which time her mother died. Pretty awful. She arrived at the hotel - prepaid and confirmed - to be told that there were no rooms available despite having taken our money...she wasn't the only one. Reading between the lines, the weather was bad and people staying on neighbouring islands wanted a good hotel on Sal and may have been offering top dollar to bump others. This is only supposition, but fits the experience of others. She was offered a bedsit with a sofa-bed! The Expedia staff did their best to find alternate accommodation, but eventually I managed to get her a flight home at a cost of nearly 800 euros. So, whilst she said the the hotel accommodation itself was good, the whole experience was vary unpleasant. We have a holiday business in the UK and would never treat our clients like this - they'd never come back and neither will she.
