A lovely hotel in a lovely little town. It's centrally situated, so it's very easy to reach shops, restaurants, bars, buses, the railway station and the Thursday morning market.
We booked a "cosy" room, but on arrival were lucky enough to be upgraded to a "classic". It was spacious, attractive, comfortable and spotlessly clean. There was a bathtub in the bedroom, which personally I dislike (though I know other hotels have similar arrangements). That said, the bathroom included a good-sized walk-in shower, which was perfect.
The only other (minor) quibble concerned the carpet on the hotel's corridor and stairs. It has the type of geometric, Escher-type pattern that makes it hard for oldies such as my partner and I to judge the depth of stairs when walking down. (Younger people won't have a clue what I'm talking about.)
Our room overlooked the courtyard, where people were sitting out, but it wasn't noisy at all.
Breakfast was freshly cooked, tasty and plentiful.
All the staff we met were very pleasant and helpful. We'd like to give a special mention to the lovely Madison at reception, who went out of her way for us.
