The Bornholmerhus is the old captain's house of the whaler Andersen from the 19th century. The house was discovered in the 1950s by a merchant family and brought back to life. It lies in the middle of a ?nature museum area?, the nature may not be changed here in relation to the condition of the 19.century. Meanwhile, the Bornholmerhus is in the third generation of family ownership and has recently been offered exclusively for rent.
Previously, it was extensively renovated by a Danish traditional company and modernized with great attention to detail. All traditional details have been preserved, in the style of Andersen. The house is surrounded by 3 hectares of its own heath.
The cottage is very spacious and combines unique comfort with tradition. The large, modern kitchen-living room is the heart of the house and is designed for social gatherings. You can enjoy a glass of wine from the bar stools for a communal cooking experience while watching delicious island specialties being prepared in the kitchen, for example.
The dining area is right next to the window front, from here you have a fantastic view over the heath and may even be able to watch a rabbit or a deer or two.
In the north as well as in the south part of the house there is in each case a large lounge with many antiques of the original inventory: the living area with a comfortable couch landscape and television as well as the comfortable fireplace room in the north part. Let your eventful vacation day end together in front of a crackling fire in the large brick fireplace!
The total of 5 bedrooms are all equipped with high quality beds and are located in a separate wing. Special attention was paid to modern sound insulation. The 2 bathrooms are modernly furnished. The larger bathroom is designed as a spa area with a whirlpool for two people and a large quality sauna. All rooms are equipped with underfloor heating, living comfort at the highest level with it is complete. The second floor is private and is not rented (use not included in the rent).
Enjoy the pretty surroundings and the beautiful area between Havneby and Kongsmark in the heath of Bornholmerhus. You have no more than a few minutes by car to shopping and the mudflats. At Tønnisgård Nature Center you can also book guided tours.
