Our family of four stayed at this remarkable palazzo in Rome, and it exceeded every expectation. The palazzo itself dates from the 15th century, and you feel the weight of history the moment you step inside. Original frescoes adorn the walls in the living room with a soaring coffered hand-painted ceiling, and the grand piano adds to the aristocratic atmosphere. We learned that Cardinals once resided in these very rooms. A pleasant private garden space, which all the rooms have windows overlooking, provides a peaceful oasis in the heart of Rome. The location is tucked away enough to feel like our own private Roman residence. It's a 5-minute walk to many restaurants, a taxi stand, grocery store, and patisserie. We could walk to most attractions, yet return to the peaceful elegance of our historic home. The staff treated us like welcomed guests, taking care that our stay was memorable. For families considering this property: with 3 bedrooms and two full bathrooms, plus a fully equipped high-end kitchen, it's spacious enough for everyone to have their own space, yet the main common area was perfect for gathering. We stayed in mid-August and the temperature in the apartment was comfortable.Like the Old Cataract overlooking Elephantine Island, the apartment in the Loire Château, and the house we rented on the beach on the North Shore, there are some places that are truly memorable for different reasons. This Roman palazzo, with its own unique character, is now one of them.
