"This boutique hotel is almost opposite the cathedral and walking distance from the town. Whilst it is small there is a comfortable and modern bar and an on site restaurant. Rooms are smart and the beds are comfortable. "

"I enjoyed my stay at Torrington Hall. I was in St Albans for work and needed a room at short notice. The self check-in instructions were sent to me in advance and were very clear. The room was lovely, with good wifi, a desk to work on, comfortable bed, and a smart TV so I could login to Netflix/Prime. "The room was great and cosy, the restaurants, bars and lounge areas are so comfortable and well maintained. The spa is to live for, great swimming pool, sauna and steam, the relaxation room is the best, silent scented and cosy. I’ll definitely come back!"

A reminder that the toilet door is a reused old front door, that means when you lock it, you should lift the handle up first and then turn the button. "Communication was non-existent - despite sending plenty of messages through the Expedia app, in the end I only got to speak with the owner when I was stood right outside the property. The beds are next level uncomfortable - very springy and one of them had a proper dip in its middle. Not recommended."

"The hotel is good for a short stay, but I was disappointed with the family rooms. The rollaway beds are extremely uncomfortable; they have barely any foam, and you can feel the springs digging into your back, making it unbearable to sleep. This might make me consider staying at Travelodge next time, as their beds are much more comfortable. I strongly recommend investing in new rollaway beds because the current ones are terrible. "Great for an overnight stay at Luton before a flight. Very fast check-in to a clean and warm room. A new bathroom, plenty of sockets and tea/coffee area.
