"The hotel is fabulous, the staff are incredibly friendly and the rooms are clean and luxurious. The only thing that could be improved is to fit air conditioning in the rooms. At night the room became quite stuffy and it's not possible to open patio doors at night. Apart from that - amazing"

"A little gem that we will definitely return to. Rooms were finished to a high quality - not just style over substance. Beds comfy, shower amazing, hot tub fab and one of the best nights sleep for a while. Paired with excellent food and service at Bowling Green Inn, would highly recommend 👍"

"Pros:: Lovely old pub, AC worked well, great location, plenty of parking, big room and bathroom. Bed was hard, but that is personal preference. Old building is beautiful but with it comes low beams, uneven steps, etc. Con's: Breakfast seemed a bit disjointed (only 1 staff member on) kept having to find staff (same with check out) - not a huge issue as pub not that big. "Hotel was good overall well located for access to Derby center. The hotel car park is very small so thankfully you have the option of a multistory across the road which if you get the hotel to check you ticket is very cheap to use. Breakfast was buffet style and not too bad."

"The places has character because of the age. The beds were comfortable. I would just say maybe invest in some new pillows as they were very thin! It did what we needed it to do and it we had a nice two night stay!"

"Location is great for us. We stayed in Room 3 in the courtyard as we had a small dog with us and they are not allowed in the Main Hotel rooms. We have stayed in this room before - its an excellent size but on the first floor. It seems to have been modernised from when we were last there which was nice. We didn't have breakfast or evening meal there as it is "hotel prices". Within walking distance of the hotel is one of the best pubs in Derbyshire - The Hollybush Inn - great beer and grub."

"A large and impressive hotel with great facilities. Unfortunately, we found the bed in our deluxe room uncomfortable and creaky and the room lacked basics such as milk and cold water. The food and drinks were delicious however, and we enjoyed the pool."
