"Were it not for a hurricane, the grounds around the main house would be beautiful. The owner/operator family, like other victims, is building back as quickly as possible. The interim condition of the exterior shows what they went through. The unaffected main house and our guest room were well-appointed and very attentive. The breakfast buffet provided to all their guests was extraordinary extravagant, as delicious and varied as you’ll find anywhere! A true 5-star experience."

"We loved our time here, my son and dogs enjoyed the creek so much and we enjoyed the privacy of the cabin. We ate every meal outside and had a fire every night. The folding camp chairs are a nice touch and we relaxed in them every evening. Thank you for a wonderful stay that my son will remember for years to come! "

"It was super beautiful and peaceful there! We enjoyed hiking in Carver’s Gap and Roan Mountain with our 3 pups. Plus fishing in the river. We very much enjoyed the cabin. I will say if you are a cast iron person like myself to cook, bring your own. But decent dish-ware and enough to make meals. My only complaint is the drip pans need to be changed on the stove because they are black almost. Otherwise no complaints and perfect place to get away. We plan to possibly make this an annual trip. "

"One of the main reasons I selected this property was because of the higher elevation. I booked this stay months in advance so I wanted to give my family the best chance to see snow while we were in the mountains. The Mountain House did not disappoint! We got some fantastic views of the mountains and valley along with the incoming weather and even managed to enjoy a few inches of snow. Definitely a property we would visit again!
