Ons gedeeltelijk zeezicht, was een raam in de slaapkamer, niet vanuit de woonkamer. We moesten onze aankomsttijd doorgeven, er kwam echter geen reactie op de mail en op een appje, de telefoon werd wel opgenomen. Verder een heerlijk zwembad.

Sao Vicente Lodge canceled our reservation (which was made several months in advance) just a few days before our arrival. They never communicated with me about the cancelation; I learned about it from Orbitz. I then had to make numerous requests to receive the refund.

Dear Elizabeth, we received your booking through hotels.com. That platform doesn't provide guests contact to the Lodge, that's why we could never reach you from the begining...! We're sorry we had to cancel it due to an overbooking. Thank you and wish you all the best!

Terrible accommodation
We had a stop-over at Ponta Delgada on our way to JFK, so we stayed there just one night. We took taxi to resort and felt like we were hostages stuck in the middle of nowhere. Checked in at 9pm and struggled to get a taxi to have a dinner (resort is in the remote part of island with NOTHING at all around it, except small village houses and cows roaming the coast). Called receptionist to help us get taxi (24 Hour Central Taxi had no cabs available and the private cab drivers either didn't speak English at all or said they were not coming to Sao Vicete resort). Receptionist lied, saying she called taxi who supposedly waited for us and left., Asked her for the number she dialed and conferenced her in: private cab driver who answered call said in broken English that he was asleep and didn't go out that night. Receptionist then went completely silent, never answering our calls again. This was surreal, terrible experience. Come and stay here if you want to starve yourself and get stuck with no transportation available in the entire island. The breakfast we were served next morning was huge and the staff that delivered it was friendly, but it didn't compensate for horrible experience we had the night we arrived. We had nothing to eat for almost 16 hours, since we hopped onto plane bound to Ponta Delgada from Lisbon. We will never return to this resort or Ponta Delgada.

Excellent lodge with amazing ocean view, nice swimming pool, lot of space, kind and efficient staff and very quiet. Just one weakness: small kitchen with limited kitchen equipment, a real pity as having dinnee in the garden under a sky full of stars was one of the main highlights.

The location was nice, refreshing with good views of the coast. The place was clean. The link for directions and the phone number listed for the property were both for a different property. In addition to following the directions to a different property, when I called the number listed I was connected to the same wrong property.

Morgens mit Blick über die Terrasse aufs Meer aufzuwachen ist grandios. Die Lodge ist innen wie außen liebevoll eingerichtet und Joel hat schnell per WhatsApp auf Wünsche und Fragen reagiert. Die Lage ist ein super Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge in alle Richtungen und wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt. Kann die Lodge nur von ganzem Herzen weiter empfehlen, würde jederzeit wiederkommen und war noch nie so traurig, dass ein Urlaub vorbei ist. Wir kommen definitiv wieder in dieses “Home away from Home” :)

Ein wenig abgelegen und sehr ruhig
Ein paar Meter vom Meer entfernt, getrennt durch einen sehr selten befahrenen Weg aber ohne direkten Meerzugang, hatten wir unumschränkte Meersicht. Das Zimmer mit kleiner, gut eingerichteter Küche mit zwei Herdplatten aber keinen Flaschenöffner war sauber und komfortabel eingerichtet. Es fehlte an nichts! Die Lage, um mit einem Mietwagen Ausflüge zu machen ist nahezu perfekt. Sehr nette Betreuung durch Joel und die zwei Damen, die unser Zimmer immer sehr sauber hielten und das Frühstück pünktlich anlieferten.

Beautiful property overlooking the coast high above the ocean. Centrally located on the north end of the island which makes getting around sight seeing relatively easy. Nicely kept grounds with pool. The staff was absolutely wonderful!! Room was neat and clean with kitchenette. Loved the Nespresso coffee maker! A great place to stay and I highly recommend it!! Already planning my stay for next year!!!

10/10 would recommend!
We stayed in Anchova - it has a huge porch on the ground level overlooking hte beautiful pool. It's off to the side so it's not as public to the pool as the other ground level units which is nice for privacy. It can be a bit noisy from the floors above (hear the bathroom water flow) but overall a very very nice room and I'd love to stay again! The parking is located behind a gate (it's to the left before you reach the dirt road at the end). It's a nice walk to the next towns for food or a very quick drive. It's nice to walk along the coast (no beach access here it is on a cliff, but it's gorgeous). All rooms have access to the very large rooftop, it's a great place to view the sunset. There is a picnic table a couple large couches up there.

Positiv: Hübsche Lage, Parkplatz unmittelbar bei Lodge, grosszügig. Negativ: Bei Ankunft sehr kühle Atmosphäre, kein Staff vor Ort (ca. 18 Uhr. Check-in erfolgt nur per Mailinfo und dann Zugang per Code). Preis im Vergleich zur Leistung völlig überrissen. Das gilt auch für die Breakfast-Basquets, die zusätzlich bezahlt werden. €15 / Morgenessen und Person: Völlig übertrieben. Die seltsame Atmosphäre und vor allem der überrissene Preis sind der Hauptgrund für die schlechte Bewertung. Es gibt auf den Azoren wesentlich preisgünstigere Unterkünfte auf diesem Niveau mit unvergleichlich mehr Charme.

Wunderbarer Ort, sehr zuvorkommender Gastgeber, Hammer-Sundowner Terrasse auf dem Dach! Es roch leider immer etwas feucht in der Wohnung, Badekleider unbedingt draussen trocknen lassen wenn möglich und nach dem Duschen gut durchlüften.

Die Sauberkeit und die Möglichkeit, selbst kochen zu können hat uns gefallen. Etwas merkwürdig war die Tatsache, nur über SMS den Zugang zur Unterkunft zu erhalten, ohne dass wir je eine verantwortliche Person zu Gesicht bekamen. Aber das ist eine gute Geschichte, zum Beispiel darüber, was die moderne Technik heute möglich macht! Weniger gut war, dass wir in den drei Tagen unseres Aufenthaltes jeden Tag eine Kakerlake mehr im Zimmer hatten. Zuerst zwei, dann drei und zuletzt fünf, die ich zu 'erschlagen' hatte. Das war echt unangenehm.

Vue sur la mer, bel espace avec coin salon et chambre spacieuse, salle de bain moderne . Equipement cuisine limité. Nous avons réservé à cet hôtel un peu par hasard mais ne regrettons pas. Il ne faisait pas très beau, le vent soufflait très fort et de la chambre, nous n'avons donc pas pu profiter des environs ni même de la terrasse quoique abritée et protégée.

Super Haus, super Wohnung, toller Garten mit Pool und Grillhütte. Zimmer sehr schön und sinnvoll eingerichtet. Man fühlt sich absolut wohl und freut sich abends, dort zu übernachten. Die Zimmer mit Meerblick sind absolut toll. Zimmer wurden jeden Tag gereinigt. Der Besitzer ist mega nett und jegliche Kommunikation läuft wunderbar ab. Der Checkin erfolgt sehr angenehm. Das Frühstück ist mehr als reichlich, sehr lecker und besteht aus azorischen Produkten. Es wird jeden Morgen in einem Korb vorbeigebracht. Ein paar kleine Hinweise: wie in allen unseren Unterkünften auf den Azoren war der Fußboden etwas kalt. Mit dicken Socken ist man gut beholfen. Das Wasser riecht etwas chlorig, Trinkwasserkanister und -flaschen gibt es aber in jedem Mini Marcado. Achtung Autofahrer: Vorsicht beim Abbiegen von der Landstraße auf die kleine Straße Richtung Sao Vicente Lodge: Die Regenrinne an der Landstraße ist recht tief, sodass man mit weniger hohen Autos eher vorsichtig einfahren sollte.

Great stay in local virtual hotel/B&B. Very clean and lots of room. Good wifi, kitchenette, sea view, cable TV and close to town. Highly recommend and Joel was SUPER responsive

Belle vue sur mer
Superbe belle vue sur la mer, pas facile de trouver l’endroit, cela porte un autre nom. Immense balcon. Près d’une magnifique piscine naturelle et en plus il y a une piscine artificielle dans la cour.

Room with a view...an incredible view.
Spent a great night in Sao Vicente Lodge whilst visiting Sao Miguel Island. A modern build on the north coast, with commanding views over the Atlantic Ocean. The apartment was well equipped and had a spacious balcony...the roof terrace is an awesome spot for star gazing!

Erg fijne en ruime lodge met mooi zwembad. Huurauto is wel nodig. Supermarkt op 5min rijden en hoofdstad op 15min. Qua restaurant zijn die de hoofdstad meer aan te bevelen dan in directe omgeving van de lodge. Maar in hoofdstad voldoende parkeer mogelijkheid en is ‘s avonds gratis.

Amazing property, but watch the balcony doors
Amazing property, located roght up against the ocean, secluded licale, and super quiet. Room was clean and comfortable, and the self-check in and checkout insteuctions were detailed and very clear. There is no hotel staff onsite, but they’re available via email or phone if you need something (assuming you have cell service in Sao Miguel). The only reason it missed being top rated is that the balcony door DOES NOT open from the outside, which means if you all (or both, in our case,) go out onto the balcony at the same time to admire the deck and view, and intuitively close the balcony door behind you to prevent bugs from flying into the room, congrats, you just locked yourself out of your room, even if it’s 11pm. I’ll spare the details of how we got back into the room, but feel free to use your imagination like we had to. :/

Very nice ocean view
Full view on the ocean from this North San Miguel Island stay, very bright appartment directly in front of the ocean and one of the azores trails. Very nice stay despite a not very comfortable sofabed ( we were 2 couples). There is also a pool and barbecue available.

Ocean view you don't want to leave
Beautiful place to discover ! Would go back in a heart beat Very organised check in and gated property with a great pool to have your morning swim. Make sure you makw your small grocery and bring your coffee ! Machine available but no coffee in the room.

My fiancé and I have visited Sao Miguel twice before, staying in Ponta Delgado, and decided to venture out of the city center. We were not disappointed with our stay here. The location was beautiful, the hotel was modern and refreshing, overall it was a wonderful experience and would certainly stay again and recommend to anyone looking for something off the beaten path with all the amenities and views anyone would need. - chris M. 6/19/18
