OVERVIEW: Your dream family vacation is about to come true! This OCEANFRONT home rental retreat will sleep eight comfortably in beds, and there is an additional sleep sofa in the second family room. Sleep to the sounds of the Atlantic Ocean!! This house has preserved part of the 116-year-old original house. Offering multiple large screened-in porches and balconies, which are oceanfront, a great way to start your day with morning coffee or tea, enjoy a great family breakfast outside while listening to the waves crash, or have a fantastic oceanfront dinner!
There are four bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and a powder room. Beautiful soapstone island & kitchen countertops, pine floors throughout, oceanfront soaking tub from the primary bedroom, and heart pine flooring in the primary bedroom. The front of the house faces the ocean, with ocean views from every room and ample seating, as well as a Bar Harbor swing for oceanfront naps and novels. A well-appointed kitchen that will please any home chef, beautiful decor, free Wi-Fi, gas grill, flat-screen TVs, corner gas fireplace, and huge french doors in the main living room that opens up to a large screened-in porch with OCEANVIEWS! Book today for a fantastic family vacation. Not only is our Rehoboth Beach exceptional during the summer season, but it is also great for a fall & winter getaway. Rehoboth offers many year-round community activities, such as Jazz Fest, Sea Witch, fall Arts Festival, and so much more!
LOCATION: Located on the corner of Surf Ave and Pennsylvania Ave, just steps from the north side of the boardwalk & beach, and only five blocks to Rehoboth Ave. Super easy walk to five-star gourmet restaurants, fabulous TAX-FREE boutiques, Fun Land for great rides, and our famous Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk!!! Easy bike rides to breathtaking biking trails have just been opened to the wetlands just to our north in Gordon's Pond State Park. Bike to the bluffs of historic Cape Henlopen - climb in the WWII towers at Henning Point, explore the armaments that kept us safe in WWII, and cruise into Lewes by bike.
PARKING: Private driveway for four cars. No more than four cars in the driveway.
AMENITIES: Ceiling fans, gas grill, washer, dryer, central AC, Wi-Fi, outdoor shower, and fenced-in yard.
THINGS TO KNOW: This home rents from Friday to Friday. Linens are not included; however, the host offers a rental package. The bunk beds are to accommodate children only. Outdoor surveillance is only. No pets and no smoking. Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the ā€œDamage Waiverā€). The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The location of the house is magnificent! However, the house itself is poorly furnished, uncomfortable and cramped with mostly rickety and worn furniture that wasn't comfortable. Perhaps the photos should not have been taken with a wide-angle lens so I could have gotten a better idea of the actual spaces. First floor bedrooms were small and crammed full of furniture. Parts of the house were dirty, the owner asks for too much to be done at checkout. When I reviewed the breakdown of fees, I thought they were excessive. Separate high cleaning fee and I had to make the beds before I left. Be aware that there is a high fee to use a credit card for the deposit. Check-in is not until after 4 pm, with firm instructions not to show up any earlier, and if the cleaning crew is running late you may not be able to check in until 6 pm. However, do not check out one minute past 10 am.

Moondock is probably the best waterfront vacation rental in Rehoboth. Perfect view of the beach and waves. Right at the north end of the Boardwalk. An easy walk to the restaurants in town.

We had a wonderful stay in Rehoboth. This home was just as gorgeous and perfectly located as the listing indicated. We spent more time outside on the decks than we did inside. The kitchen was well stocked with more than the basics needed for a group of avid home cooks. I would rent this property again in a heartbeat.

The location of the property is awesome! And the views from the screened in porch canā€™t be beat. The rooms are definitely smaller in real life than what you see in the pictures. As others mentioned, there is a strong cat urine smell in the downstairs hall. The owners should consider replacing the flooring.

The house was nice, and a perfect location in Rehoboth. Beautiful views, close enough to the boardwalk and far enough from the crowded sections. We were able to walk to all restaurants and bars. Loved riding our bikes on the beautiful trails up to Lewes. The best part of the house was the screened in porch where we spent a lot of our time as a group. We all felt the house needed a more thorough cleaning. I found myself washing down walls and door frames when I arrived. There is also a lingering odor on the first floor at the bottom of the staircase, despite mopping and "frebreezing" multiple times. It is listed as sleeping 12 people and that is very generous. The bunk bed room is very tight and the pull out couch on the 2nd floor should not have been converted as another sleeping area because it takes away from the family room, which was small. All in all the house served its purpose and we all had a memorable vacation

House was great! Perfect location just north of the boardwalk. My favorite thing was the porches! Nothing like a beautiful sunrise with a cup of coffee and a book to start the day. Having the screened porches was perfect, especially in the evenings. Our family had a wonderful time and we hope to return again next year!

The Moondock is perfect located right at the quieter north end of the beach with a great deck overlooking the wave. A short walk to all the restaurants and stores in town. Lovely house. Another wonderful stay at the beach.

There's a pollen tree in full bloom in the front yard that landed pollen on all the porch floors and furniture and digital screens every 20 minutes. You might want to warn your April guests about this. Paper goods were either not present or hard to find. The literature says the house is stocked. We found paper towels the first day and toilet paper the last day. No napkins or tissues. But the layout and furnishings and location of the house couldn't be better. I hope to bring my family again. Thank you.

The home itself is lovelyā€”especially the master suite; but add to the interior space the AMAZING DECK SPACES, the PROXIMITY to both the beach and downtown Rehoboth, and the MAGNIFICENT VIEWS, VIEWS, VIEWS, and this rental far exceeded our expectations. This is the perfect combination of comfort and luxury.

Location was great, could not ask for a better spot. The house was clean and well decorated with plenty of space, the views are fantastic day and night. Great access to beach, boardwalk and shopping. We didn't receive check-in instructions and it doesn't note in the description that there are no sheets so we showed up late and it took over an hour to get into the house, then realized we had no bedding and had to run out. That may have been in the contracts we signed but I think the communication could be smoothed out.

Our family had such a wonderful vacation together at Moondock 1! We couldnā€™t stop raving about the views, the one block walk to the Boardwalk and the family gathering space, the screen porch. This is a must rent for your vacation at Rehoboth Beach. Also, we enjoyed our bike ride adventure to Henlopen State Park exploring nature and history . The only area that we see as a need for improvement are the beds in the twin bedroom . Maybe an upgrade would be great if this is an option . The owners have done a beautiful job renovating this home where we made wonderful memories! Thank you !

Great location, beautiful house. Our issue: The previous guests left behind an undeniable "pet smell", but the ReMax team was extremely proactive in doing everything possible to mitigate the smell and make us comfortable. By the end of our stay the smell was almost unnoticeable.

The house is exactly as appeared in the photos. We had a lovely stay and the house has beautiful views of the ocean. House could use updates to include HD channels, but overall a very satisfying week at the beach! I highly recommend this house and will come back.
