"Great room and lovely staff"

"The Step House hotel was one of our favorite stays on our Ireland trip! We had a beautiful and spacious room that opened onto a terrace overlooking the gardens and mountains in the distance. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and breakfast in the 1808 Pub. The staff was wonderful and the extra touches like flowers and prosecco in the room made this the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary and start off our trip! We enjoyed the small town of Borris and walking the Railway trail. We hope to...

"The staff were all fantastic couldn't fault any of them. The bar area is great and has a good atmosphere."

"This place is absolutely magical! The property is enchanting, the hostess fascinating and the breakfast out of this world! The shepherd’s huts are so charming, I guess you could call it “glamping”? The one thing I would say is that my knees aren’t great and I found the steps to the huts a little tricky, so not ideal for anyone with mobility issues, but other than that it’s a 10 out of 10! I wish I could have stayed longer."

"Lovely food friendly staff and clean place to stay"

"Great experience for a quiet night in. Not much else to do. But if that is what your are looking for highly recommend."

"The view from our room was beautiful of the river. The bar had great food and drink with a friendly, efficient staff. The view of the river great!"

"Já é minh 4a estadia. Adoro os quartos com vista para o rio. Hotel foi renovado, quartos mais modernos, mudanças no restaurante e café, mantendo-se excelente. Staff é o ponto alto do hotel, funcionários atenciosos. Breakfast continental €7,50 atende bem. Ponto baixo foi o Wi-Fi: quarto 209 ok mas no 318 péssimo "

"Loved walking the grounds. The dinner was amazing!"

"The reception staff (Debbie) was very helpful and arranged an early takeaway breakfast for us as we were travelling early."

"Perfect"

"Recomendo. Localização de fácil acesso. Estacionamento em frente. Supermercado que vc vai a pé. Quarto silencioso e espaço. Somente o detalhe da escada para os andares é que não agradou."

"Great to have onsite decent gym with studio. Pool and spa. Restaurant had live music sat and sun nights while i was there. Was packed of locals and guests. Breakfast was tasty. Parking is only a short walk away. I was in the new area of the hotel which was a bit of an internal maze to get to (few stairs - there are lifts). But room overlooked river and bed was comfortable. Didn’t get any noise from the gym considering it was close to room. Enjoyed my stay."

"Basic accommodation in a building separate from the pub. My room smelt a bit weird. The shower lacked vigour and could not be detached from the wall. The staff were good."
