Kitchen fridge and freezer not cooling or freezing food.Amenities were good at resort. Jucuzzi should be warmer. Overall good but could not rate higher because of these items.

House is lovely, but definitely not where it shows on the map. Just be aware it is VERY quiet around the house (we saw one other person in 5 days) unless you go to the main resort. That being said, its a pretty spot and our kids didnt mind having the area and resort pool near the house all to themselves!

Excellent place

I have been going to Puerto Peñasco for 14 years and always stay at Mayan palace, this time I went with more people and decided to look for a house that has the amenities of the Mayan palace and it was near. This home was just what we needed, spacious, beautiful, just what the pictures and description said. I will definitely stay here again if coming in a bigger group. The people in charge was always responding to my question and check in was smooth. Thank you so much

Fantastic getaway to Puerto Peñasco

Everything was pretty easy, check in/out, etc. We’ve stayed in a lot of places in Puerto Peñasco and this was easily top 5. The house is nicely put together - didn’t feel we were missing anything. The rooftop patio was really nice. Access to the Mayan Palace was great. Property manager was super responsive. We were there with another adult couple, however the house is setup for families and could easily accommodate more. You are only about a 25ish min drive from town. The Mayan is a 5 min drive from the house. The beach here is the best in Puerto Peñasco. There are no vendors allowed, it is sandy instead of rocky, and you can explore the estuary. It was about a 6 mi round trip to walk from the Mayan all the way down to the estuary and back. This was a highlight - depending on the tides and time of day you can hop across sandbars and be standing in the middle of the sea. There was a ton of wildlife and shells. The food at the Mayan is great and the Vidanta golf course is the best golf in Puerto Peñasco. Food and drink costs at the Mayan are NOT outrageous. The breakfast buffet there was amazing. Service was fantastic -the bellman even fixed one of our headlights! Mayan also has a lot of free activities they put on during the day like sand volleyball, beach soccer, Mexican lottery, etc. Internet at the house worked well. Only downside was that we couldn’t get internet access at the Mayan as that is reserved for guests, but cell service was good. Would 100% stay again.

A Private Paradise

My friend and I had a great stay in Mayan Lakes. The house was very comfortable, and well-appointed. The proximity and free use of the Grand Mayan Resort was also incredible. All of the staff there were very friendly, and we were made to feel right at home. I look forward to returning soon!

Great second stay at this Mayan Lakes property

This is our 2nd stay at this property, and once again it was perfect! We love to cook and relax while on vacation and this property checks all the boxes. Having the use of the Mayan resort is a huge perk/bonus for us. Only comment (and this is not a reflection on the owner or property) is I am sad that they haven't developed this area more in the past 4 years that we have been staying here. But we still love the privacy and quiet. Thanks again!!

Great house with private pool!

This is our second stay at Mayan Lakes (different properties). We really like having an entire house with a private pool for our family. Having the ability to use the Mayan Palace for the gym, pool, or other amenities is great. It is a short drive to the resort. Great place!

Property was nothing like the pictures and is way far away from anything in the middle of an ugly desert. No nature preserve with water, pools were filthy, sheets were dirty, smell of awful chemicals and no AC!

Deceptive location

The map pin in listing is way off. It looks like the unit is right at the golf course, which is why I chose it. The unit is actually in the Mayan Lakes complex, which the listing avoids mentioning. The unit is somewhat run down and needs maintenance. It was not cleaned very well. The rental manager was unresponsive.

So much fun!

The property was great. The hot water heater broke the last day we were there, but didn't affect us at all. We were worried for the owners, because we know it's a pain. We were happy we were there to let them know. It's an interesting experience. You are in the gated community pretty much by yourself. All of the homes and apartments were empty. I personally felt like that was more of a positive than a negative. We had everything to ourselves. There is a post apocalyptic vibe to it as if you were the only of your neighbors to survive a nuclear holocaust. Again, hard to see the downside to having it to yourself. Pools at the house weren't really usable, because they were not heated. I imagine that is different in the summer. We had to drive to the Vidanta, but we didn't feel like that was a huge inconvenience. We usually drove there after breakfast and stayed until dinner and then went back to the house for dinner. Played at the gorgeous golf course and pretty much had it to ourselves as well. Felt too good to be true.

My family enjoyed their stay from start to finish. We had access to the Grand Mayan Resort to go over and enjoy resort amenities, which was a treat! I will be coming back to stay and recommend this home to friends and families.

Great experience

We had a great experience with this house. From booking, to the stay, to check out. The house was clean, AC worked great, water was hot, kitchen was awesome. We didn’t use the pools at the house because we went to the Mayan Palace daily to hang out, as it’s a short 5-8 min drive away. It was nice to be able to escape the resorts for a quiet crowd free evening at home. We had a great time. Hosts were very available to answer questions before and during our stay. We will stay here again.

Family Christmas at The Mayan Lakes

Carmen was very responsive with any questions related to the property and made checking in easy. She provided clear instructions to get there and arranged a Chef and bartender to prepare dinner our first night. The fresh food and drinks were topnotch and the highlight of the trip. The property was very clean, very cozy and my family enjoyed themselves very much. We walked the property and observed a lot of wildlife. At night you could hear the coyotes and it was really great having a fire place up on the rooftop deck to watch the sunset. Getting into town was very easy and just less than 30 minutes. The Mayan Palace resort is a quick 3 minute car ride. The resort is beautiful, resort grounds maintained, beach is breath taking and the staff very polite and welcoming. The Christmas Day brunch at the resort was delicious and well done. My family and I are already discussing our return for next year. Thank you again Carmen for making our stay so special!

Wonderful

We stayed for Thanksgiving week and it was the perfect get away. The house was perfect for our family if 4. We spent most to all of our days at the grand Mayan resort beach, wich was absolutely beautiful. The property itself felt very safe. There is always a guard on post. Don't stay anywhere else! This place is perfect.

Beautiful Home

The home was absolutely perfect. We had 6 total (3 adults and 3 kids) and we had plenty of space. The only issue we had was slow draining sinks in the master bathroom. We had no issues gaining access to the Mayan and it was only a 4 minute drive to the beach. We really enjoyed our stay

Misleading property posting

the home itself was very well kept and spacious. However when you arrive to the house is looks as if it is something from a horror movie. The properties around the home is unfinished and looks awful. When we checked in no one at the resort or property rental had any idea of where the home was. Once checked in the house had no hot water and even after they came to fix was extremely limited and had to have the shower turned a specific way. The ocean and resort are about 10-15 minutes from the actual house. This is not ocean front property. As much as I was hoping for a better stay I would not recommend this property to anyone or ever stay here again. Please also keep in mind that this house is at least 30 mins from the actual town and is a journey if you are wanting to be near night life or any life in general.
