An Outdated Penthouse

For a penthouse, this condo feels quite small. The living room is limited in space, and only one of the bedroom offer an ocean view. However, there is a large patio with a grill area and an ocean view, which is a nice feature. The condo includes two master bedrooms, each with a king-size bed and a full-size foldable couch, which is convenient if you have small children. The third bedroom is smaller, with a queen bed. Overall, the condo is OLD and REQUIRES SIGNIFICANT RENOVATIONS, especially the kitchen and living room. As someone who values cleanliness, I found the kitchen sink in urgent need of replacement, along with the kitchen dishes, pots, and pans. Additionally, the condo does not provide hair shampoo, kitchen towels, or dish soap, so be sure to bring your own. The price was reasonable, i guess you get what you pay for. I will not be staying in this condo again in the future.

Had higher hopes

Will try to be as clear and specific as possible about our recent stay in this place for 5 days for 6 people. Pros: View was amazing and the balcony is so huge! Can definitely fit a larger group if needed. Had enough seating options and sunbathing lounge chairs. 2 out of 3 rooms were spacious and did not feel cramped. The smallest room by the entry was OK. Room service ladies were there every morning around 11am and provided additional TP and paper-towels, trash bags, etc. Hot water worked great and we had no shortage of it. CONS: Communications from the rental property in non-existent. No welcome and thank you for staying letter, nothing. Prior checking in, I did messaged the rental company, who took their time to respond back, and we are talking about days! Not professional in my opinion. The property is very outdated!!! If you like everything new or somewhat newer, this place is not for you. From old light switches, non-workable trash cans that kept popping the lid and allow flies to collect, to fan that made very creepy noice in the bathroom (room in the balcony area). The smell in the main room is faul, musty and just smelled OLD. We had to keep doors opened most of the time to let the fresh air in. NO SHAMPOO/CONDITIONER, bring your own! NO BEACH towels provided, bring your own! NON WORKING/existent GRILL (HUGE disappointment!), reason why we rented it so we can cook outside! Sadly ran out space to list more, and would not return. 3 star rating .

Great view, OK condo

We were so excited to stay in this condo, but it was only a so-so experience. There was absolutely no communication from the owner. I've rented several other properties and this is the first time the not hearing from an owner. The in-condo amenities are significantly lacking. Despite this, the view is fabulous and the resort is nice. Pros: -Great view -Clean condo -Well-kept pool -Good beach access -Large outdoor patio area -Well-stocked with dishes, pots, etc. Cons: -Listing showed built-in outdoor cooking area. In reality, this no longer exists. There was a small, old propane grill with no lighter to be found. Luckily the neighbor helped us out! In place of the grill is an old and broken mini fridge. -NO kitchen towels or washcloths/sponge!!!! We asked the front desk and were advised the owner should have provided this. -The toilet seat in the separate bedroom is too small for the bowl and is almost cracked. -The drain plug in the primary bathroom sink is broken and does not allow water to drain. The bed in the separate bedroom is terribly hard and uncomfortable. -There is salt in the kitchen, No other basic items -Outdoor furniture needs updating. The water was shut off to the entire resort on our last day. Apparently this is happening frequently in the area - the owner could have alerted us this was a possibility. It had not come back on by check-out, so per the front desk we had to leave dirty dishes in the sink. Good trip, but would not rent this condo again.

Awesome stay! Amazing patios and views!

We loved everything about it! The view, the patio, the dining room cabinet that was filled with shells signed by previous visitors. It was the perfect amount of space for us. Our only suggestion is to have the dishwasher fixed but everything else was fantastic!

End of summer family vacay

The property is perfect for a large family with plenty of space for all. The patio is huge and made a great hangout spot to gather. I reached out to the property owner twice with questions but never received a response. One question was to ask if the grill was operational and if propane was available. I never heard back but for anyone else wondering, yes the grill works and we found propane about 10 minutes into town.

WEEKEND IN PUERTO PENASCO

Suite was very large, Coffee maker in main suite and guest suite malfunctioned every day we used them. Sliding glass doors to ocean side, were heavy and hard to open with slotted handles, once opened OK. Check in only provided one key for 3 adults, kept promising another, but never available, ONE WASH CLOTH PER BATHROOM! That needs to change, felt that rate we paid, not complaining about rate, but at that rate, should have provided more.

Great location, needs some TLC

We have been staying at different units at Sunoran Sun, and have always found the property to be great. We booked this 3 bedroom with very large terrace for our family vacation. The unit was well appointed and had great views, however there were a few issues that need to be addressed. First and foremost, we could not use the 3rd bedroom casita for the first two nights, because the mini split a/c unit was not working and the casita was very hot without a/c. The compressor for the mini split was in an "owners closet", which maintenance could not access for three days. Seriously, an a/c compressor in a non-ventilated closet??? Also, we could not get hot water in the showers in the main house. Maintenance came up and fixed it temporarily, however, we could not get hot shower water the entire week. The sliding screens on the terrace doors were torn and one of the terrace sliding doors did not have an exterior handle. All of these issues were reported to the front desk, so hopefully tenants in the future will not have to deal with these issues.

Great Location

Everything is wonderful, the view is amazing. But I want to suggest some few things, definitely need some updates. An smart tv would really great. No one use cd anymore btw, do that cd cassette should bye bye. Need new pots and pan, also a guest towel would be totally awesome.

We’d stay again, but...

We liked the condo and we’d stay again, but we’d also shop around. As a penthouse condo (and for the price) it was severely lacking in some things: drinking glasses, there were NO Tupperware/storage containers and the patio was amazingly huge but the furniture was inadequate. How do you have a condo for 6 and only 5 lounge chairs? It really needs more chairs, coffee table, rocker, hammock, etc. And it really needs an umbrella. It was disappointing. I think almost every condo I’ve ever rented has a binder or a sheet with where to find things, who to contact for needs that come up, property tips, general info, etc. For instance, our friends who have stayed there previously (and were in another unit during this trip) told us that staff will come around and ask if we needed more bottled water, toilet paper, towels, etc.

Very very nice!

Two hot tubs and a heated swimming pool. WiFi and TV reception was excellent. Gym facility and restaurant were also top notch. The concierge office (Lidia and Allen) helped coordinate an in-room Chef dining experience for dinner that was fantastic. There for Valentines day and the weather cooperated a little. The deck on our penthouse condo was huge with recliners, BBQ, shower and outdoor table for dining. There were six of us and we had plenty of room. We would definitely stay again. Stay in the west wing for best sunrise view.
