The cottage was super clean and had everything you would need to enjoy your stay. Enjoyed the view of the harbor from the deck and relaxing out by the fire pit in the afternoon. The hosts were very friendly and kind but also unobtrusive. Would definitely recommend and book again!

Relaxing honeymoon

My Husband and I spent our honeymoon at this wonderfully peaceful property. The accommodations were excellent and the place very clean and charming. A bit of a drive from Acadia, but worth it for the peace and quiet right on the water. We’d love to stay again!

This is a beautiful property in a forested quiet area and the charming cottage is really nicely designed, decorated, and appointed. Our hosts were just as wonderful! The quiet roads through the forest gave us endless walks with frequent views of inlets and lakes, and occasional interactions with friendly and interesting local people. Acadia Ntl park is an easy drive away and it is amazing. We loved so many things about this property and area and we can't wait to go back.

The perfect home away from home!

Our stay at Tranquil Retreat was delightfull. The Cottage was well equipped and nicely decorated. It was private and very tranquil setting. The owners, Debbie and John were helpfull and friendly.

Tranquil Retreat, indeed!

This was one of the loveliest vacation rentals I’ve had. The views are incredible, the space has lots of little touches as well as being stocked with everything needed. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and would love to come back soon! Thank you, Debby and John!

Wonderful Coastal Maine Cottage

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this wonderful cottage in Prospect Harbor. It was equipped with everything we might need and more. The owner was so helpful and quick to respond to any questions we had. I would definitely stay here again.

This property was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The apartment has been well cared for and offers all of the amenities for a fabulous stay. We were greated with a very much appreciated goodie basket of snacks and a kind welcome message from the owner. This was welcome as we arrived after driving many hours that day.Communication with the owner was excellent. The location is near the Schoodic Peninsula which is a wonderful area to explore. I highly recommend this property.

Our stay

We were very pleased with our decision to book here. John and Debbie were on excellent hosts. The property is located in an attractive area with short duration access to many of the attractions that drew us to the area. The property was very clean and great for a stay. With an oceanside view and a nice area to sit by the water, it really was a great place to stay.

Peaceful Retreat

This was the perfect place for my husband and I to escape after a stressful few months. It was quiet, charming, peaceful and close enough to Acadia and to Bar Harbor to be able to do everything we wanted to do. Debby and John were also fantastic and left us with a basket of goodies and great suggestions of things to do in the area. It was absolutely perfect!

Highly Recommend

I cannot say enough good things about this beautiful waterfront property. It is perfect for a couple's escape. We were looking to be away from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor, and this stay fit that. The kitchen was gorgeous and had everything I needed to cook. The balcony was a peaceful place to eat dinner while listening to the waves. The hosts communicates quickly but also gave all the privacy we craved. If I'm ever back in Maine, I will definitely stay here again.

Birch harbor paradise

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Debbie & John’s property in birch harbor. The home was immaculate, property was fantastic, and the stars at night were amazing. We enjoyed watching the lobster boats while we were sitting around the fire pit. We were also just a short 8 minute drive from Schoodic Acadia. Debbie & John were great hosts. They gave you privacy but we’re also fun to talk to. Their home offered us a perfect vacation.

What a wonderful place!

We spent 10 days in this lovely, quiet place. The cottage is beautifully made and outfitted. It feels spacious, and the artwork, furniture, and kitchen equipment, and bathroom supplies are all very nice. It has everything needed to live comfortably and really relax. The views out every window are pretty and the balcony overlooking the lovely yard, trees, and ocean was the best place to sit and enjoy coffee, or the moon. The quiet roads in this area offer long walks through forest with frequent views of ocean, inlet, or lake. Acadia National Park is close and amazing. Our hosts were so lovely - relaxed, and generous, and fun to talk with. They gave us good advice whenever we asked. We look forward to returning to see them as well as their beautiful part of the world.

Peaceful and gorgeous!

What a wonderful stay at Tranquil Retreat! Visiting the Schoodic Peninsula for an art residency, I was seeking a rental that would provide a quiet and restorative space when not working in the studio nearby. This apartment was perfect, and I look forward to returning. Communication was timely, friendly, and informative. There was a welcome basket full of goodies upon arrival! The owners next door were helpful and responsive, while not at all intrusive. The space was tastefully decorated, extremely clean, neat, and equipped with everything one might need. What really completed this gorgeous home away from home were the ocean views, sounds, autumn color, and the deck from which to enjoy them all with coffee or wine, which I enjoyed even with the chilly October temps.

Perfect space and wonderful hosts!

We absolutely loved our stay. The space is homey, light filled, incredible views and stocked with everything you need. Might just be my favorite place I've ever stayed. The host was so helpful and offered great tips from everything from groceries to good restaurants to the best night to build a fire. I would absolutely stay here again. Only thing to keep in mind is it's an hour from Acadia and local food options are limited. Not at all a negative, as it also meant you are out of the touristy areas and could really unplug. Just worth it to have a good amount of groceries to last in case you rather just stay in and enjoy what this peaceful retreat has to offer.

Wonderful stay at this beautiful, peaceful property!

My husband and I recently took our first trip to Maine together and had an absolutely fantastic stay at this property! It was beautiful, updated, extremely clean/well kept up, bright with tons of natural light, and so comfortable - everything we could have asked for and more! We loved the location with easy access to Acadia/Bar Harbor and the activities we planned to do, but with the peacefulness and tranquility of not being in nature and not right in the center of the touristy area. We loved having our morning coffee with views of the water, and falling asleep listening to the waves gently lapping on the shoreline at night. It was perfect for coming back to and unwinding after a busy day. We had a wonderful time on our vacation, and are already talking about when we can come back!

Cozy Shoreline Stay

We enjoyed the location of this quaint home that had easy access to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The property manager made us feel at home with a welcome basket. We found the directions very accurate and were able to take advantage of hikes during the day on the schoodic penisula as well as the firepit right on site along the shoreline to close our our evenings. The air conditioning window units cooled down the house if they were on for a few hours. The wash machine machine was a plus and there was a cooler in addition to bug spray and a lighter available for adventuring! We enjoyed our stay and experience in Maine with this great stay ❤️
