Then there’s the stunning Lancashire coastline encompassing Formby, Lytham St Annes and Cleveleys. The bright lights of Blackpool are just a half hour drive and in the other direction is the Ribble Valley, as famous for its excellent local food as its outstanding natural beauty. Finally Preston is surrounded by the hugely popular 21-mile Guild Wheel route for cycling and walking.
