"The building is very old. With this comes issues with either a very steep staircase up to the rooms or use of an emergency exit at the rear (which is made of metal steps with a precarious old mat dangerously situated at the top). The room was lovely but it was very hot as situated above the kitchen. The weather was forecasted to be 28/29 degrees and I had to ask for a fan. "The property was very clean in the rooms but the veranda was really dirty and dusty it looked like it had never been cleaned the bed was really clean and comfortable and it had a massive TV in the room and some exercise things too. The bathroom was clean and towels were lovely and with toiletries provide it was a bit far from train station to walk but the bus stop was nearby as it was a bit expensive to use taxis. They had lots of outdoor space to eat and drink as you were next to the Caversham...

"This place feels like an odd mix — some aspects feel like a hip boutique hotel while others seem a bit “budget.” There is no actual lobby or dedicated hotel staff in the evening, so you collect your key from the large bar on the ground floor. The rooms are nicely decorated and well appointed (eg, nice bathroom fixtures, Nespresso machine in room), though quite dark. Good location in historic city centre. Nice touches like a refrigerator on the corridor that has bottles of cold filtered water."
