Villa San Giacomo is one of the Amalfi Coast’s most prestigious historic residences—an extraordinary private villa of superlative luxury set above the sea in Positano’s evocative Liparlati district, from which it takes its name in honor of the local patron saint. Built in 1741 by wealthy merchants and restored through a meticulous, multi-year conservative renovation, the villa today reveals its full splendor: a rare balance of authentic 18th-century character—arched loggias, frescoed vaulted ceilings, and timeless architectural details—with the finest modern comforts and discreet, high-end service.



Generous interiors unfold across multiple levels, offering refined living and entertaining spaces designed for both privacy and conviviality. On the ground floor, the villa’s heart comes to life with an elegant dining room arranged in two adjoining vaulted chambers, a grand living area composed of richly decorated frescoed rooms, and a fully equipped professional kitchen—ideal for tailor-made culinary experiences prepared by your dedicated staff.



Four French doors open directly onto the villa’s signature arcaded loggia, shaded by a retractable pergola supported by a graceful colonnade—an elevated outdoor setting that becomes the perfect place for slow breakfasts, sunlit lunches, aperitivi at golden hour, and unforgettable dinners under the stars, all framed by Positano’s iconic skyline.



Outdoors, Villa San Giacomo offers a private oasis of terraces, manicured gardens, and breathtaking sea views that shift with the light from morning to sunset. The infinity pool, perfectly integrated into the landscape, overlooks the Mediterranean and the pastel cascade of Positano. Pool dimensions are 4.50 x 8.50 meters, with a maximum depth of 1.3 meters, and it is open from April 1 to October 31. Surrounding sun terraces invite pure relaxation, while the villa’s landscaped grounds—complete with lawn, fruit trees, and a vegetable garden—create an atmosphere of serene exclusivity.



The villa’s accommodations are equally exceptional, designed to welcome up to 27 guests across elegant sea-view suites and private attic apartments. Each suite is appointed with premium amenities including a courtesy set (shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap and body cream), hairdryer, safe, minibar, air conditioning, heating, Wi-Fi, and comfortable lounge seating, all enhanced by the quiet sophistication of the property’s historic soul.

•Ravello Suite — King Bed: Bright and elegantly understated, an intimate sea-view retreat with a serene, timeless atmosphere.

•Capri Suite — King Bed (Extra Bed Available): Sophisticated and welcoming, with the option of an extra bed for a child upon request.

•Positano Suite — King Bed (Extra Bed Available): Warm and luminous, inspired by the Coast’s iconic palette, with an extra bed available for a child.

•Praiano Suite — King Bed (Extra Bed Available): Refined and inviting, featuring well-balanced spaces and panoramic sea views; extra bed available for a child.

Lower Level (Floor -1) – Quiet, Private Suites (approx. 15 m² each):



•Amalfi Suite — King Bed: Calm and intimate, designed for deep relaxation with soothing sea views.

•Sorrento Suite — King Bed: Bright and discreet, where elegance meets tranquility after a day on the Coast.

•Napoli Suite — King Bed: Refined and minimalist, offering privacy, modern comfort, and sea views.

Attic Level – Two Private Family Apartments (approx. 40 m² each):



•Liparlati Family Suite — 2 King Beds (Interconnecting Rooms): Two connected bedrooms offering space, privacy, and contemporary comfort.

•Sponda Family Suite — 2 King Beds (Interconnecting Rooms): Stylish and functional, with two connected bedrooms balancing shared living and personal space, enhanced by sea views.



Beyond its extraordinary setting and design, Villa San Giacomo is defined by the ease of its lifestyle: the villa is within walking distance of Positano, making a car unnecessary, while parking with valet service is available for those who require it. A curated library dedicated to local culture, cuisine, nature, and history adds a thoughtful touch to the experience, while the villa’s service and concierge can arrange bespoke moments both inside and outside the property—from private boat tours, wine tastings and cooking experiences, to yoga sessions and tailor-made itineraries along the coast.



Included with the rate: electricity, water, central A/C, heating and final cleaning; daily housekeeping with bed linen changed three times per week; cook and waiter for breakfast plus one additional meal per day (lunch or dinner); daily continental breakfast; daily pool and garden maintenance; porter service on arrival from 4:00 pm to 8:30 pm and on departure from 7:00 am to 10:00 am (outside these hours, or on Sundays, porter service is available at an extra cost). For weekly rentals only, a complimentary welcome dinner is included (chef’s choice).



Not included with the rate: additional staff hours; personal laundry service; cost of food and beverages; daily parking fee per car with valet service.



Notes: a €3,000 food allowance is payable in cash upon arrival; a €10,000 damage liability is required as a credit card guarantee. A local visitor’s tax may be requested by the Italian government (approximately €1.50–€6.00 per person per day, depending on location), applicable for the first ten days and payable locally in euro cash. Smoking is permitted only on the terraces; pets are not allowed.



The villa can be reached via a public elevator from street level or by climbing 250+ steps (the elevator is not affiliated with the villa; operating hours and any applicable fees are set by the town of Positano). Check-in is between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm and check-out is from 8:00 am to 10:00 am. All services and extras are payable locally prior to departure unless otherwise arranged.



Important Note: To maintain the villa’s high standards of quality and service, external catering is not permitted. All food and beverage services must be provided exclusively by the in-house staff and/or the property’s approved suppliers.
