This was an excellent location for our annual large family gathering. The rooms were comfortable and very clean and the hosts are exceptional. With better weather, we would also have enjoyed the outdoor spaces. The neighborhood is charming and vibrant. Many thanks, Michelle and Klaas!

We rented both homes and really appreciated the separation of space. The beds were comfy and there were thoughtful touches throughout the homes. We loved the location and proximity to food and shopping. Had the weather been nice, I’m sure we would have used the nice outdoor spaces. I’ve rented a lot of homes and this one ranks with some of the best.

This is a fantastic property in an amazing location! We rented both houses and it really suited our group of friends who were visiting for a wedding as there was plenty of space for everyone.The outside space was great too and we enjoyed hanging out and playing table tennis, twister and other outdoor games.We also had one baby in the group and the house had everything that was needed.The location is amazing as people could walk to coffee shops, restaurants (the sushi place next door, Mole Mole food truck), ice cream (Salt & Straw) and shopping.This property really exceeded all expectations and we'll be back next time we visit Portland!

Fun duplex in the heart of an arts district

We reserved the whole duplex for a writing retreat. It was a perfect location. Lots of beautiful outside spaces for quiet reflection, an expansive dining table upstairs for workshops, and three independent bookstores within half a mile.

Great space for a small work retreat!

Our 12-person team needed a space that could act as accommodations our non-Portlanders (7 total) and operate as a homebase during our week-long retreat. This home was perfect! Location was ideal, communication was clear, and space was perfect for us to meet during the day but allowed people to spread out and take their personal time during the evening. While maybe not a typical spot for a small team retreat would definitely recommend!

Birthday weekend family style

We stayed here for a birthday weekend, 13 people between the ages of 21-60. Perfect location so many fun places within walking distance. The house was amazing, comfortable, everything you could ever need for a great vacation. 1000% recommend!!

A Special Home Away from Home in NE Portland

This was a perfect fit for our multi-generation family of 10 with dog. Rooms with comfy beds for everyone, enough space for all to gather, and fun decor. Handy to nice eateries, grocery shopping and little boutiques, and plenty of convenient side street parking. If your large party is looking to be in NE Portland, check this place out.

Portland cute house!

Everything was great! Property location was perfect. But we wish the property had its own parking& driveway. Also, the shower curtain in the main floor bathroom needs washing. Its white& the bottom is pinkish brown already.

Hood to coast

Great location and even worked out for the team to sleep an hour between legs 12 and 13 at Van transition. Host was awesome and super helpful. Would stay here again in heartbeat.

Wonderful house in great location

We all agreed this was one of the best places we’ve ever rented. Michelle made us feel at home and even brought over a homemade pie! (It was delicious.) Nothing was lacking - it was clean and comfortable, easy instructions, and helpful tips. We spent one afternoon playing the games she provided. All in all we had a great time there.

Family of 12 for the 4th!

Wow! What a wonderful home! We scheduled our family adventure this year to Portland from NC/SC. My wife and I traveled with our six adult children, spouse, fiancé, and partners (12 of us). The house served us perfectly! The home was beautifully decorated comfortably appointed. The location was outstanding! Right across the street from tin shed, the coffee shop, and next-door to the sushi restaurant. So much of the Alberta arts within walking distance, the courtyard and the plantings were beautiful. The owners were extremely responsive and helpful. I would highly recommend this home for your next day in Portland. Tom.

Fabulous Location, Lots of Amenities and Great for Families

We did a family vacation for three nights in both the upper and lower unit. The location was incredible. Right on Alberta close to shopping (so much vintage) , great food, bars and spas for the adults. There was also kiddo shopping like Greenbeans books and Grasshopper Toy store. The house was clean and kitchens well equipped. We used the outside patio and play areas and appreciated the kids toys and games. I will absolutely rebook with this location.

Conference group

A group of my colleagues stayed here for a conference at the Oregon Convention Center. We got so lucky with the location! There are all sorts of cute eateries right on the street the house is on. My only regret is we didn’t get more time to explore the immediate area! The house was clean and thoughtfully designed. We were able to hang out there because there were multiple seating areas to accommodate the large group. The beds were super comfortable too! Thanks, Michelle! I would definitely rent this space again.

Alberta Arts District Stay

Gathering of 5 longtime HS friends and their mates for a shared birthday celebration this year. Great upstairs /downstairs layout for both shared time together and occasional privacy. Wonderful location in the heart of the Alberta Arts District. Michelle & Klaas are warm, excellent hosts. Provided a special birthday gift to us. Everyone enjoyed the house, the location, and the our 5 day experience there - and meeting Michelle and Klaas!

Great stay!

We stayed in both units as part of a big group of friends. Plenty of beds, baths, room to hang out, stocked kitchens with coffee, and beautiful spaces! Location was good with lots of food and drinks nearby, and also well located to access other neighborhoods in the city.

Wonderful house in perfect location

I celebrated my birthday with my husband and several friends, and this was the perfect house for the occasion. We rented the top and bottom units and everyone fit comfortably with plenty of space. There are so many cool restaurants, bars, and shops within minutes of walking, and we felt safe walking around the neighborhood. The hosts are super friendly and responded very quickly to the question we had. Beds were comfortable, as were the sofas/chairs in the living room where we hung out. The back patio was a fun area to socialize. I definitely recommend this house!

Awesome house, great location!

This is one of the better vacation homes that I have ever rented. Thoughtfully laid out, well supplied, and clean and comfortable. Parking can be a little tough at times but it’s worth it to be right in the middle of Alberta with access to all the restaurants and shops. Thanks Shift!
