Sleeping up to five guests, this peaceful retreat offers beautiful mountain views, a cosy log burner, and a private garden to relax and unwind. Perfectly placed for mountain bike trails, scenic walks, and nearby beaches, it’s an ideal base for exploring the Welsh Valleys while enjoying a calm, slower pace of life.

This typical miners’ terraced cottage sits in an area where mining was once the heartbeat of the community and the main source of income. The surrounding mountains, once blackened with coal dust, have been completely transformed over time and are now covered in lush greenery and woodland.

Today, the area is known for its calm, open spaces and miles of trails that are open to the public. Whether you enjoy walking, cycling, or simply soaking up the quiet, the mountains and forestry offer a real sense of peace and escape from everyday life.

The nearby town of Maesteg is just a short distance away and has everything you need during your stay, including supermarkets, local shops, bars, and restaurants. You’re close enough for convenience, but far enough to enjoy the slower pace of the valley.

For food and drinks closer to home, the Refreshment Room restaurant and bar is within easy walking distance — ideal for a relaxed meal or a casual drink without needing the car.

Cyclists are especially well catered for, with direct access to the cycle track through the bike shed, making it easy to head straight out and explore the trails from the doorstep.

* Dining area for enjoying meals together.

**Lower Floor
* Fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, blender, air fryer, washing machine, tumble dryer.
* Bathroom . Bath, WC,separate shower cubicle, hand basin.

**Top Floor (Sleeping Quarters):**
* Bedroom 1: Features a comfortable double bed.
* Bedroom 2: Features a double bed and a comfy daybed.
* Both rooms share a connected jack-and-jill shower room and have wardrobes and nightstands with bedside lamps.

**Outdoor Space:**
* Private, fenced garden—a wonderful spot to relax.
* Patio with an outdoor dining area for al fresco meals.

**For Families:**
We are family-friendly and provide the following items:
* Crib and Pack ‘n Play/travel crib
* High chair

* Fireplace guards, window guards, outlet covers, and baby safety gates.

There are good train links as far as Maesteg, along with easy access to local taxi services and reliable bus routes, making getting around simple even without a car. Cardiff Airport is just around 50 minutes away, making the cottage easy to reach whether you’re travelling locally or from further afield.
