Wild and remote in a small village in Iokea in the Gulf province of Papua New Guinea is Moroipi lodge. We offer village based accommodation in the traditional Melanesian thatched huts, where all the material used are sustainable and locally sourced. All our huts or cabins face the ocean with full sea view, our facilities are traditional and comfortable. Each hut has a balcony, we provide a mattress which is laid on the locally woven mats, bedding and mosquito nets are also provided. There is no electricity in our village so we provide solar lamps and torches. There is a thatched shower enclosure, buckets are used and water is from the ground well. There is a shared self composting pit toilet that is raised with a seat. We are 6 hours from Port Moresby the capital of Papua New Guinea where the nearest airport is.
