Located directly in the heart of Port Clyde, Dew Drop 4 Village Cottage is a classic Maine coastal home just steps from the harbor, shops, dining, and village life. This is a true in-town stay, where the sidewalk loop, waterfront, playground, post office, church, and local favorites are right outside your door.
The home is part of a traditional Maine cape that has been thoughtfully adapted into two separate residences. Dew Drop 4 is the larger portion of the home, offering multiple bedrooms and gathering spaces while maintaining privacy with its own entrance and parking.
This home is well suited for one or two families traveling together. It also works comfortably for smaller groups who prefer to use the first floor only. As a classic cape, the layout includes multiple rooms with a cozy coastal feel, along with upstairs bedrooms featuring sloped ceilings typical of this style of home.
Entering the home, you are welcomed into a bright and inviting kitchen filled with natural light. Just inside, a small entry table provides a convenient place to set down groceries or belongings as you arrive.
The kitchen features Café appliances, including a French door refrigerator with ice maker and filtered water, a bottom freezer drawer, a double oven range, wall-mounted microwave, and dishwasher. Both a Keurig and standard coffee maker are set up on the counter for easy use. A large dining table at the center of the room offers seating for eight, creating a natural place for gathering and shared meals.
Moving off the kitchen, you enter the living room, which offers a comfortable and inviting space to relax. The room features a comfortable sectional sofa, rocking chair, and windows facing the harbor that bring in natural light throughout the day.
Shelves filled with books and games, along with a smart flat screen television with cable and streaming capability, make this a welcoming space to unwind after a day of exploring.
Also on the first floor is a bedroom with a queen-sized bed, dresser, and bedside lighting. A full bathroom on this level includes a shower and tub, vanity, and washer and dryer, efficiently arranged within the space.
Heading upstairs, you will find additional bedrooms set within the second floor of the cape. The stairs to the second floor are steeper than in newer homes, consistent with a traditional Maine cape and older fisherman’s cottage style.
One bedroom includes a full-sized bed and a window with views toward the harbor and working waterfront.
Another bedroom features a full-sized bed and access to a small private deck with Adirondack chairs, an ideal spot to enjoy the evening air, sunsets, or a quiet moment after the day winds down.
The final bedroom includes two twin beds, a dresser, and shared nightstand, making it a great option for children or guests sharing space.
A second full bathroom is located on this floor, along with a linen closet for additional storage.
A single portable air conditioning unit is available on the second floor to provide added comfort during warmer summer days. This is a floor-style unit with a window venting system and can be set up in a bedroom or the bathroom, with doors left open to help circulate and cool the second-floor living space.
Outside, the property offers a large shared lawn that extends to the water’s edge. This unit has its own dedicated outdoor setup, including Adirondack chairs, a fire pit, and a grill.
A small shared garage space is available on the property where you will find beach chairs for your use, along with space for storing bicycles or other personal items during your stay.
The setting is especially inviting, with views of the working waterfront, boats coming and going, changing tides, and beautiful sunsets. The open lawn and natural light make this a favorite place for relaxing, reading, painting, or simply enjoying the coastal setting.
This is a tidal waterfront property. At low tide, the water recedes and exposes the natural mud flats, while at high tide the harbor fills in again, creating a constantly changing coastal landscape.
The property includes access to a shared boathouse on the water, offering another place to sit, read, write, or enjoy cocktails while overlooking the harbor.
Just down the road, you can purchase fresh lobster directly from local fishermen and bring it back to prepare at home.
As this is a shared property, guests may occasionally share the lawn and waterfront areas with guests staying in the adjacent unit. The home is located along Co-op Road, where you may hear early morning activity from local fishermen, along with the natural sounds of the nearby playground and village life.
This home is designed to be enjoyed year round. In the summer, the lawn, waterfront setting, and village activity create an inviting outdoor lifestyle. In the fall, the landscape shifts with changing leaves and coastal light. In the colder months, the home becomes a comfortable and cozy retreat, perfect for gathering indoors, playing games, working on puzzles, reading, or simply slowing down together.
Around the Fourth of July, you may see fireworks from the surrounding harbor area. These are typically set off by local residents and can appear in different directions across the water.
