THE PROPERTY
The landscape surrounding the little hamlet of Gavignano is completely quiet and unspoiled, making a perfect setting for a country holiday, ideal for gentle walks and picnics. The towers of S. Gimignano are just visible across the valley. Podere OLiveta which translates as 'Olive grove Farm' consists of 5 different apartments which enjoy a pretty location up in the hills. Podere Oliveta is located in a certified carbon neutral area that means no air pollution . Each apartment has its own independent entrance and own garden area with barbecue. Much careful thought has gone into decoration, furnishing and ensuring the apartments are equipped down to the last detail. There is a swimming pool surrounded by a sun terrace which has stunning views overlooking the rolling olive clad hills, the sprinkling of cypresses trees and the majestic towers of S. Gimignano in the distance. Local wine and olive oil can be bought nearby.

Podere Oliveta is a good choice for exploring central Tuscany. The main attractions of the region can be reached very easily. The highway which connects Florence to Siena is only 3 km distant. And the villa's location only 3 km from the railway station of Poggibonsi is a good base to visit Florence and Siena even without a car: You can park your car in Poggibonsi (free parking behind the railway station) and take the train in both directions. During the week, trains to Florence/Siena and back go regularly (approx. every 1. hour). The train ride takes about 30 minutes to Siena and 1. hour to Florence. In Florence the train will take you to the main train station which is right in the centre of Florence - it is just a short walk from the station 'Santa Maria Novella' to the Cathedral or the Uffizi. In Siena the railway station is located approx. 1 km from centre, and you may have to take a bus to reach the old town on top of the hill or take the escalator.

THE APARTMENT
PETTIROSSO is the most inviting flat with its own quiet spacious garden with good tubs, furniture and barbecue and a private balcony. A green painted iron staircase leads up to the balcony, well equipped to eat outside or sunbathe. French windows open into the spacious bedroom, with wrought iron bedsteads and sunny yellow curtains and covers. The well fitted shower room is white and furnished with terracotta; and the very comfortable living room with a neat kitchen corner again opens onto the balcony. This is a secluded and charming place to stay.
