"This place is a wonderful home base for a visit to Avellanas. It's about 15 min walking from Avellanas beach (world class waves), 15 min driving from Playa Negra and about 30 min driving from Tamarindo. The space is really great: well equiped kitchen, big clean and nice bathroom and in both bedroons the beds are very comfortable. All the communication went very smoothly, and they were available all the time for any issue. I really recommend this place if you're thinking to explore around...

"We weren't prepared for how remote this property is and the extended rainy season made it even more so with very poor road conditions. Be sure to stock up on EVERYTHING you'll need before going up there as a trip to any store or restaurant will be lengthy. We had to leave after staying only one of our two nights as we just didn't have enough food. There is a restaurant on the property which would have been a complete game changer but it wasn't open during our visit in mid-November. The times...

"It was so fantastic! Really suited our family well, had a wonderful experience at Casa Serena. Enjoyed all the outdoor living, including all the critters! Grandkids were thrilled with all that there was to do there without TV!! Simon was great and made sure we were comfortable and kept the grounds and pool in pristine condition. "We stayed for 3 nights, and it was very pleasant. Check in went without a hitch, the facilities were very clean, pool is very nice. Rules are in place to limit noise after 10pm, which we found very reasonable and all guests seemed to respect it so we had a very relaxing and calm stay. Parking is also provided, but it is not gated, so make sure not to leave any valuable items in your car just in case (we didn't have any incidents at all)."

"This was the perfect place to unplug and chill. Doris and Johnny did an excellent job of creating a cozy oasis. It was the perfect balance of private space to do our thing, and common space by the pool to connect with other guests when we wanted. Doris is delightful and answered any and all questions we had, accommodating our every need. The location was fabulous...in walking distance to several restaurants, and a magical mangrove leading to the beach. We are already making plans to stay...
