Seasonal: Enjoy watching the dolphins jump from your gulf front screened lanai with steps right down onto the beach.Comcast cable and WiFi. All linens, tableware, cookware, beach towels, beach chairs provided. Have you vacationed on the island before? Palm Island a.k.a. Don Pedro Island, is a barrier island 7 miles long between Sarasota and Ft. Myers on the Gulf coast with sugar-sand beaches, beautiful harbors and lagoons, great fishing and shelling only accessible by a short 10 minute car ferry or private boat. Our beaches are some of the most pristine and quiet in all of coastal Florida. There are no high rises blocking your Gulf views, unpaved sandy roads, and a relaxed "Old Florida" atmosphere. There is one restaurant called the Rum Bay that serves lunch and dinner. The car ferry runs continually from 6:30 am until 10:00 pm from Sunday through Thursday and until 11:00 pm Friday and 12:00 midnight Saturday. You drive your car onto the ferry and then directly to your vacation rental home. It's a very special place to vacation. We have kayak rentals and golf cart rentals for your use during your vacation. All of our properties on Palm Island require a ferry ride to get there. One round trip on the ferry for car and passengers costs $55. The alternative is to purchase a book of 10 round trips for $400, or $40 per round trip. For more information on the ferry, google Palm Island Transit.
Pet Policy: This home is Pet Friendly home. This means that ONE dog is permitted to stay at the rental. No cats are permitted in any of our properties. Certain aggressive breeds as designated by the State of Florida and outlined in our rental contract are not permitted. No exceptions will be made to this policy.

Palm island vacation

The property was great. Grew up traveling to palm island. The condo we stay in was a bit dirty and had an ant and possible termite issue. The master bedroom had some sort or winged ant problem. There were bunches of them dead against the base trim. The deck and stairs were crawling with little black ants. The posting originally said there was a pool that we would have access to. Then a week or two before they changed it and said there was no access to the pools due to the hurricane damage. No refund/compensation even though that was one of the main reasons for the stay at the specific location. I would still rate my overall experience an 8/10.

The place is very nice, very clean and has all you need. Be sure you bring all you need for your stay as there are no shops at the island and the restaurant is average. The communication with the owner was great. Excellent place to relax enjoy the beach and the pool.

Beautiful Beach house

Beach Time

Access to the beach was so simple. Just a flight of stairs and short nature path put me right on the beach! Views of the beach and water were breathtaking from the master suite, living room, kitchen and the deck. Accommodations were very comfortable.

Great location but “lived in”

The condo was perfect for us. The condo itself was a bit outdated and “lived in” but we didn’t expect it to be a Ritz, especially for the price. The location was ideal, the beds were comfortable, the charcoal grill was a great touch (we left extra charcoal and lighter fluid for the next guests) and used it often, and kitchen equipment was adequate. The extra beach chairs came in handy and all the extra towels were used often. Overall, it was a great condo, mostly because of the location, but to keep up with all the other condos on that side of the street, a fresh coat of paint and updates to the decor and furniture is suggested.

Great location but unit needs an update

Upon check- in we discovered one of the upstairs toilets didn’t flush properly and we communicated to the property manager the next morning. He had a busy day of check ins and said we had 2 other toilets. Eventually after 4 days into our stay I called again and he did come and repair the toilets and he also replaced the moldy disgusting shower heads that even bleach wouldn’t clean. Upon our return from the NY day parade we discovered that we had no power and internet. Again I called and texted but no response, however it was a holiday. But we would have loved to be able to watch the Rose Bowl game on our tv. The unit has a wonderful location but the upstairs master bedroom and both bathrooms need to be updated. The wallpaper in the master bathroom is so stained it just needs to come down. The kitchen amenities are dated and you just get the basics. We had two other families that stayed in different properties and paid the same as we did and those properties were much much nicer, however they were not on the beach. The location is the best thing about this property.

Wonderful location and set up. Very convenient and easy check in. Love the floor plan, the shared pool, and of course the amazing beach. Property needs some repainting and new floors and a furniture cleaning. Carpet and furniture have lots of stains. Walls and ceilings lots of dirt, dust and marks.
