The room needs a deep cleaning and overhaul. The door lock took 4-5 tries before it finally opened. When the door opened, the room smelled stale and musty. The air conditioning / heater cover was coming off; we attempted to adjust the unit fan, but to no avail. The floor of the room was dirty and sticky. After showering we washed our feet again before putting on our socks and shoes. In the shower the previous guest's used soap and shampoo were still there. The bathroom door (which didn't close properly) has streaks / stains of something running down it. The knobs / handles to the dressers were sticky.
The (king size) bed is worn and lumpy. It needs replacing.
The furniture is chipped and worn.
The room is sloppily painted. Paint from the building exterior is splattered inside the door, through the cracks around it since the door isn't properly weather sealed.
We realized that the property is a Red Roof Inn, but it's supposed to be their "Plus+" brand. It isn't. The reason we gave the property a '2' and not a '1' is because we woke up safe and without bed bugs.
