"The property is under extensive renovation and is messy and dirty in the public areas. Our third floor king room was fine. The breakfast area was in the lobby and very unsatisfactory."

"Excellent hotel and ski resort complex, with great infrastructure and activities for both children and adults. Friendly staff and comfortable rooms. Note: the shuttle service between the hotel and the ski base is unreliable and delayed our ski lesson. Winter weekends are very crowded."

"The staff was absolutely fantastic.But the cleaning of the room failed.Out of the 4 days we stayed the room was supposedly clean 2 times,and all they did was pick up the trash and change the towels and do the beds.The bed sheets were never changed.I know this because one had a stain and it was never changed.Also the whole place needs a lot of upgrades."

"Seems like it would be a nice enough place to stay with the family for a vacation getaway right on a lake. However, we were traveling across I-80 and just needed a place to stay overnight. This was a ways off the highway, so it required some extra driving to get there. The room was okay. It's an old motel that has been renovated but still seems a little tired."

"This property had everything you could need on the grounds, we never had to leave the property. Great, clean, and just an overall great family bine type of environment."

"First and foremost Split Rock did not make me aware that we were staying separately from the actual hotel. This may have been a blessing because the hotel seems like its falling apart. Everything is old and needs to be updated. The place is so dirty and things donts even work. I was very disappointed with the experience and will not be returning. The waterpark was horrendous"

"The reviews of this place are incredibly polarizing. Some people think it is the worst place they have ever seen. Others think of it as a twee little time capsule, an example of the pocono mountains in their former glory. The truth is a bit in between, though it is, in cat the worst place I have ever stayed. (And I am a sucker for cheap motels) You can see evidence of its former glory. It seems kinda clean, but it is very run down. Whoever runs this place has done a number of shoddy repairs....
