Private lakefront home 30 minutes from downtown Ann Arbor!

Looking for a secluded Up North getaway without the drive? A private lakefront retreat with beautiful sunsets? A nice sandy/stone beach perfect for children? Look no further! Bass Lake Manor provides all of this and more. Located next to Strawberry Lake and on Bass Lake, this home has plenty of amenities in a relaxing environment. Bass Lake is a motorized lake, but only allows pontoons due to its beautiful sandbars. We recommend water shoes while exploring sandbars (fresh water clam shells are plentiful in this healthy lake). Don't let the shallows fool you however, it is also 70ft deep and offers amazing fishing/swimming! Bring your paddle boards and kayaks, because this lake is a real treat to explore. There is another lake connected through a wooded river to discover! Also, the Huron River Chain of Lakes has an access point 4 miles away. If you are looking for a hiking or mountain biking adventure, there are two state parks located nearby that offer miles of beautiful trails. Zukey Lake's Decktop Tavern is a mile away, and there is plenty of incredible dining options in Brighton (20 minutes north) and Ann Arbor (30 minutes south). If cooking at home is more your style, there is a fully loaded kitchen at your disposal as well as a blackstone propane grill. The patio features patio furniture and a bonfire pit. Bass Lake Manor sleeps up to 9 comfortably, and the main floor is a completely open space for spending time with your family.   • If you are ever lucky enough to attend a Michigan Football game, do it! The atmosphere is incredible and you’re surrounded by 110,000 plus if your closest friends :) Try to tailgate before the game! Bring a car to the golf course early as it fills up fast! There is a no bag policy so make sure you have pockets! It may not look huge from the outside but when you walk in you’re at row 70 out of 96! So there is a long way down to walk!

Advertising was misleading, we experienced domestic water to be smelly, WI-FI intermittent, microwave did not work properly, window in bedroom not in wirji g order. Television in bedroom not working.The location and surrounding areas are beautiful.

We were fortunate to spend the whole month of July at this beautiful house. The lake was great for boating, kayaking and fishing with plenty of places to anchor and swim or just float! We are looking forward to our return next year!

Lovely home

We had a wonderful stay!! Our family stayed here for our son’s UMich graduation. We usually stay in Ann Arbor but decided a nice lake house with our large family would be better. It was perfect! Plenty of room and love we could spend quality time together in this beautiful home on the lake. House was clean and just perfect. We brought our own fishing rods, able to fish & grill between graduation events. Communication with Guy was excellent & our stay here was better than I first imagined. Thank you so much!

Tranquil Setting on the Lake!

Very nice place and a great setting. We were out and about quite a bit but when we were "home" we especially enjoyed sitting outside by the lake. The home is very comfortable and worked well for the 3 of us plus a couple local family members who would visit. The 3 bedrooms are all upstairs and there is only the 1 full bathroom upstairs, which somehow I didn't realize before arriving. But it was great to have the 2nd bathroom downstairs for general use of course. We all enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend staying here!

Perfect Summer Getaway!

Family Getaway

Our family of 4 adults and two kids, 5 and 8 loved our recent visit to Bass Lake! The lake was perfect for the kids to spend the day swimming and fishing. Shallow water was perfect for them. We enjoyed boat rides at sunset and using the floating island. House was perfect for our use. Great location for nearby hiking, mini golf and of course a visit to U of M!

Enjoyed Our Stay on Bass Lake

We stayed at Guy's house for a week while attending a family reunion and wedding at Strawberry Lake Lodge (only 0.4 miles away). Fun to see the sandhill cranes visit most evenings and leave in the morning. We took advantage of the short distance to Zukey Lake Tavern and the Lakelands Trail. Very quiet location and easy communication with Guy. House is very comfortable with several areas to spread out and relax and is well stocked. The decorating touches throughout the house made it an extra special stay.

Vacation house

Perfect lake house!

We had an amazing time at Guy's house! The house itself was set up wonderfully, with a comfortable living area, a large kitchen island and dining table where we could all gather, and a kids' room that they loved (bunk beds!).

Great Lake front rental with plenty to do.

Our stay was so much fun at Guy’s lake house. We rented the pontoon as well and enjoyed cruising around the lake every day. There was a lily pad that the children absolutely loved and we also enjoyed the paddle boards and kayaks. The water was shallow enough all the way to the end of the dock that we didn’t have to worry about our young children being in it by themselves. The black stone grill made meals fun and tasty and the kitchen was great for prepping meals. The house was clean and comfy for both our families and children. Would highly recommend this property for your lake vacation on a small relaxing lake.

A beautiful home and amazing location

We didn’t want to leave. The property owner is super nice and met us upon arrival. He is very responsive and communicative. We rented the pontoon boat for the weekend and are so happy we did. We hosted a family dinner and fully utilized the space, the kitchen, the outdoor grill and fire pits. It was absolute perfection. We have already discussed wanting to go back. We loved it!

Quiet retreat with amazing views

This getaway was perfect for what we were looking for. It was very quiet & peaceful. The water was like glass most of our stay - extremely clear and calm - allowing us to enjoy the kayaks and pontoon which is like new. We also appreciated the proximity to so many trails, restaurants, & grocery stores. The host was very responsive and met us briefly upon arrival to show us around. The home was beautiful and very comfortable as well. We would definitely stay again!

Incredible place

First of all the pictures don’t even do this stunning house justice. It is so charming and beautifully decorated and yet also comfortable. Guy was very very kind and responsive. The thing I care most about rentals is cleanliness and this place was SPOTLESS. You could really tell all the thoughtfulness and hard work that went into this house. Our two kids absolutely loved the dock and playing on the back patio. It was also very conveniently located. We would absolutely stay here again and thank you Guy for allowing us to stay at such a special place!!! If you are thinking about renting this house you absolutely should!!!! 10/10 would recommend!!!! Gorgeous house and location!!
