The Space:

The heart of this charming home is the spacious open-plan living, kitchen and dining area that is flooded with natural light from the large windows and patio doors, thus creating a bright and welcoming space for guests to enjoy. Finished with plush seating, a television and tasteful décor, the inviting living space is ideal for guests looking to relax and unwind at this lodge - whether it's having a family movie night or curling up with a good book. The adjacent dining area is the perfect place for guests to gather and enjoy delicious meals whilst creating lasting memories together of their stay. The well-equipped kitchen provides everything guests need for a self-catering stay - for either a short term break or a longer getaway.



The property features two cosy bedrooms, each offering a quiet and restful setting with soft, comfortable furnishings and ample storage space, making it ideal for a restful night’s sleep after exploring the nearby countryside. The main bedroom features a luxurious double bed, while the remaining bedroom is configured with twin single beds, offering flexible sleeping arrangements for both adults and children.



The two generously proportioned bathrooms (one is an ensuite to the main bedroom) are completed with a modern design and feature contemporary fixtures and fittings, providing a comfortable and convenient place for guests to refresh themselves throughout each stay.



The open-plan living space opens out onto a patio area, delightfully equipped with outdoor furniture so that guests can enjoy fresh air and sunshine from the comfort of their home away from home.

There is parking available for guests to park two cars next to the lodge and additional visitor parking nearby.

Galtres Retreat is situated in the attractive market town of Pickering, North Yorkshire, on the edge of the spectacular North York Moors. The area combines the convenience and character of a well-established market town with easy access to some of Yorkshire’s most beautiful countryside.



Pickering has a welcoming, traditional atmosphere, with attractive historic streets, independent shops, cafés, pubs and local amenities centred around the Market Place. The town is particularly renowned for its rich heritage, with Pickering Castle and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway among its best-known attractions.



For those who enjoy the outdoors, the surrounding landscape offers an exceptional choice of walking, cycling and country pursuits. The North York Moors are immediately accessible, while Dalby Forest and the wider Yorkshire countryside provide further opportunities to explore.
