Cozy studio apartment in the heart of Rittenhouse Square. Lots of light, full kitchen, with private laundry and patio space on a historic cobble stone street.

Studio apartment, with a full sized kitchen. 3 seat couch, with a full sized Murphy style bed. Large closet space. Private laundry room. Standing shower. The apartment has a 2 seat kitchen table.

Private entrance behind a mix use building. The apartment is located at the end of a one way street.
Other things to note
Not ideal for for wheelchair access, or convenient driving access. The unit is on a very narrow street, which is most accessible by walking.

cute studio in great part of Philly

perfect for solo traveler or couple. wouldn't recommend to groups (not sure why the listing says it sleeps 6, could handle 3-4 at most). 5 minute walk to Rittenhouse and all its amenities, lots of nearby food and shopping. parking nearby with reasonable overnight rates. definitely would recommend if you need a cute little space to stay in Philly.

Great location if you are ok with walking

First, the Hideaway is as it states - “Hidden” @ the end of a dead-end very narrow cobblestone road. The studio sized apartment was comfortable and a perfect size for my Husband and I. The room was refreshingly cool when we arrived. It is definitely not the easiest place to find, but very quiet. It was located close to the Mutter Museum which was the reason for our visit. We had all we needed for our two day stay in Philly. It has a double size Murphy bed that was quite comfortable and a sofa. The bathroom is small and there’s very little space to put out toiletries; it was clean and there were cleaning supplies under the sink. Just a few things that other residents may find helpful-there is no on site parking and the lots that are a few blocks away are quite pricey. The unit is at the end of the road and you cannot turn around - backing out for almost the length of two football fields. There is an iron fence and gate entrance with the keys in a lockbox. The lock was a bit tricky to open on the gate as it spins a bit when you try to turn the key. If you are not steady on your feet the stairs down to the unit could be difficult to navigate. It is not handicap friendly to gain entrance. Also, for anyone with allergies there was dog hair on the couch, even though the unit is not supposed to allow pets?I would stay here again and do recommend this unit. The owner was very good with communicating with us for our trip.

Weekend Visit

We wanted a place close to Rittenhouse Square and this location fits the bill for that. It is just as described and you won’t find a lower daily rate in this area. As others have said, you have to go down metal fire escape type stairs to get to the unit so being able bodied is a must. The Murphy bed was surprisingly comfortable but a little tight for two if you are used to sleeping on a queen or king.

Disappointed

When we walk up to the property I was so disappointed. There was garbage, cardboard and laundry bottles on the patio. The entry door was so dirty. it felt like we were entering a prison. Inside was just as bad. The coach was all soiled, the legs of the bar stools were broken and there was rotten food in the dirty fridge.A big let down!!!

Property has many issues

The description of the property is greatly misleading. The address is on one street, but the entrance is from a cobble alley behind the building. The cab driver would not go there, so we pulled our suitcases almost a block past sidewalks blocked with trash cans and bags of trash. Granted it was trash day, but our entrance had trash (no cover to trash cans) outside for the whole stay. The layout with the Murphy bed is very cramped when it is down, and it's hard to get in and out for the person by the wall. The only two stools are broken, so there is no place to sit to work or eat. The dishwasher was full of rust spots because it had not been emptied and a pan was left in it that had become rusty. Also the dishwasher upper washer arm was detached, so only half the dishes were cleaned. The clothes dryer door had to be held shut by pushing a bin against it. The bed is very short (barely fit a 5'7" person), but bathroom facilities (mirror, shower) are for a giant. I, at 5'1", didn't see my face the whole time. Owner responded quickly to some questions but sent no one to fix the problems like the broken stools or dishwasher. We were given no instructions on what needed to be done by us on leaving the place.Still stayable, but not pleasant. I gave it a 2 rather than a 1 because it was quiet and had a good refrigerator.

Good location, was not clean, only comfortably sleeps one person

Location is great for this unit, near all the good stuff around Rittenhouse. It is in the basement and access is a little tricky. It was not a problem for me, but it would be tough if older or injured. The access stairs are a metal fire escape style stairway to get from street level down to the entrance. This unit really can’t sleep more than one. There’s a full size Murphy bed that could sleep two, but would be tight. This is not a unit where you are going to hang out, it’s just too small. When the bed is pulled down, you can’t walk between it and the sofa to the bathroom. It works fine for one person, but not more. The unit was not clean for my stay. The sofa was covered in dog hair, the floor was dirty, and the counters and kitchen sink didn’t seem to have been cleaned well. I contacted the owner about the issue, asking for the cleaning fee to be refunded, but he didn’t respond further. Wouldn’t stay here again

Cozy and well-appointed, larger than it looks in pictures with decent sized shower. The location is great with good access to some of the best parts of Philly. The bed is comfortable and the host is highly responsive and kind in communicating. Fits 2 people quite comfortably.

Fantastic location at the end of a quiet cobblestone street. Perfect walkable location just outside of Rittenhouse Square. The property is a larger studio with a large bathroom and living/sleeping area. Will definitely book again!

This is a very quiet and well appointed studio apartment on a scenic cobblewtone street. Pictures make it seem a bit smaller than it is, the place was a great size for the two of us exploring the city. Depending on your walking speed it's about 7 minutes to the trolley stop on 22nd and Market, and it's very close to the number 7 bus for an easy trip to the museums and Eastern State Penitentiary. The unit above is a shop, and the street is a dead end with only residential traffic, so at nighttime it's very quiet. Communication was great and instructions for finding/entering the unit were a snap.

This property cannot accommodate 6 people. Two slept on a Murphy bed and it was too tight to walk around the sofa. This property should be advertised for only 2 guests.

It was a small, yet versatile space, very comfortable and pleasant for a short or long city stay. The studio apartment was in the middle of everything I wanted to go to in Philadelphia. I found myself feeling like I could enjoy living there, if I wasn't just visiting from out of town.
