"It seemed to be. We received email threats telling us how much the fines would be if we left any dirty dishes or didn’t take out the trash or checked in too early or checked out too late. All the coffee mugs had visible dirt or food on them inside and out. The water glasses had food spots on them. The lamps in one bedroom didn’t work, though they worked when plugged into an outlet in the kitchen. It was ok, but worrying about all the possible ways we might have to pay a $20, or $25, or $30 fine...

"DIRTY and MICE. Second time staying here. First time was dirty but manageable. This time we could not find another place open so decided to stay here thinking it could not be worse. WRONG. Floors were filthy. Walked around in my bare feet and they were black on the bottoms. We had to wear shoes the rest of time in the house. No supplies to clean ourselves. Opened up drawer in kitchen and found mouse droppings and towels shredded by mice. Other drawers had mouse droppings. Next day opened another...

"We were so looking forward to our stay at this home. However, upon arrival, we noticed that the basement had flooded. There were a few fans running around the room, so someone was aware of this problem and did not address it, or notify us. It took us 4 hours on the phone to finally get the problem addressed and resolved with VRBO customer service. The host did finally contact us several hours later after we had left the home and found a hotel. Apparently there was an issue with a broken phone?...

"Just what we needed. Enough space to spread out and the location was perfect. Highly recommend this location"

"We arrived at the property in the dark to find the walkways, steps and porch ice and snow covered. Extremely hazardous for my husband who is partially disabled and walks with a cane. Door code did not work. After calling the owner we stood in the freezing cold for almost half an hour while they attempted to locate the lockbox code. Lockbox was located on a dark side of the property and we were lucky to have flashlights with us.Upon finally accessing the property we found it unclean and we ended...

"The rooms were spacious, the bedding was clean, and the furniture was acceptable. The house needs some maintenance pretty badly. The flooring, decking, patio furniture and flooring above the kitchen needs to be replaced. The dishes were dirty, sink upstairs and bathtub areas need a good scrub, and there was quite a bit of dust on the walls and ceilings. The bedrooms and living room area was nice. Definitely not a five star. "

"Not like the pictures and smelled weird inside. Expected half a roll of toilet paper to last 6 people 4 days. The upstairs was hot and we couldn’t get it to cool down. Not a great spot if you are looking to enjoy your time inside the house. "

"I stayed in town to care for an ill friend in hospital. I thought I was staying on the lower level of the house. It was actually an upstairs apartment with outside access & steep stairs to take your luggage up. I was hoping the host would be flexible with my check-in and check-out since I was looking for accommodations to sleep during day and leave for hospital in early eve. each day, He was not.
