Landscaped grounds. Parking for 3 cars opposite. No smoking.. Ingle Neuk is set in the delightfully situated hamlet of Bowscale, in the perfect location for guests wanting to really explore the local area and beyond. Nestled in the Lake District National Park, it is ideal for guests who enjoy a walking or cycling holiday, with plenty of public footpaths and cycle paths through some of the most magnificent countryside. There are plenty of attractions within a close radius. Experience Lakeland at its best, with every kind of outdoor activity on hand. Ingle Neuk Cottage is a haven for getting away from the stresses and strains of everyday living and ideal for anyone looking to spend some time amidst the peace and quiet of beautiful scenery. Walk straight out on to the fells from your cottage door, or go pony trekking and see the sights from a different angle. Enjoy sailing on Ullswater, or take in the magnificent scenery on a launch trip up the lake. A region which offers something for everyone, whichever season you choose to visit. In the winter months, visit the Lake District ski club, and for enjoyable days out, there are plenty of places to visit, including Aira Force Waterfall, Wetheriggs Pottery Museum and Penrith Castle. Also in the area surrounding Penrith is the wonderful Rheged Discovery Centre, Lowther Leisure and Wildlife Park, Dalemain Historic House and Gardens, and the beautiful Hutton in the Forest, a Grade I listed country house. The lakes and fells to the south are easily reached or go north to the charming villages and historic sites in the Borders; a trip to fascinating Hadrian’s Wall is a must. Although the nearest shop is just 5 miles away, Keswick is 10 miles and just a 15-minute drive with a good range of shops and amenities. Shop 5 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Lovely cosy, quirky cottage.

Lovely cosy, quirky cottage. Very small but it had everything we needed. Although there was a table and chairs, we found it comfortable to have trays on our laps. Kitchen very well equipped although not much storage space. Linen and towels smelt and felt lovely. Nice hot shower.Cottage is located in an excellent area for many walks straight outside the door. Seating outside both back door and front, ideal for a morning coffee to relax and take in the views. Both gardens enclosed so our dogs were able to wander safely. Lots of supermarkets in Penrith and beautiful walks and quaint shops in Keswick.We will definitely be booking this cottage again.

A lovely short break, perfect for walking as straight out the backdoor and also for exploring Keswick and Ullswater. The Mill Inn is extremely welcoming and the pies are delicious. Met several people who have been returning for years. Our 3 dogs certainly enjoyed it. John was very hospitable and we will certainly make a return journey. Many memories created.

Clean, warm(heating and power included in price), well-equipped, comfortable cottage in a great location for walking and climbing. Owners live next door and are very pleasant and welcoming without being intrusive. Recommended.

Excellent beautiful location.

Excellent beautiful location. Had everything there we needed. Worth noting the uneven flooring upstairs that could cause issues for the unstable first thing in the morning and steep short stepped staircase requires caution when descending. Very hospitable and friendly owner. Storage heaters easy to regulate heat. Querky with much character.

If you want a great value tranquil cottage in a beautiful location then this is an ideal cottage for you. We spent three great nights at Ingle Neuk with our two dogs. The pub, which is just a mile away, was really dog friendly and serves some great specials. Keswick is only a short drive away and again is amazingly dog friendly. The cottage was comfortable and quaint and the owner, John, welcomed us warmly and explained how the cottage worked. We would definitely visit again.
