I checked in around 4 pm and my hut had such poor Air Conditioning that I could not stay. The unit was high up in the room and in a corner near the bathroom. The air was not very cold, so the temperature in the room was hot and humid. The bathroom is open air above the shower, so you have to keep the door closed (as a sign says) to keep the mosquitoes out of your bedroom and to keep the AC inside your bedroom. So that means there is no AC in the bathroom, and there are mosquitoes (and any other outdoor creatures) because it's completely open to the outside.
I told the staff that the room was too hot, and he let me see how a hut next door was compared to my room, and it was much cooler (not amazingly cool, but better). They said they were fully booked and couldn't move me to another hut. They would call a maintenance guy out "tomorrow". I said I couldn't stay there with that heat and humidity and asked for a refund so I book elsewhere. The guy there said he couldn't authorize that and could only check people in and out. He tried calling his boss and couldn't get ahold of him. Expedia tried to call them, but they don't have a phone (they only text), and the boss in Jakarta wasn't responding to their email. After about an hour, the boss responded and said no refund.
The property is beautiful, but it's very remote and you cannot walk anywhere. Next to the property is a construction site. This is the only time I have left a hotel. I lost my money since they refused a refund.
