Barefeet Retreat is a low country 2 story, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom villa overlooking a large saltwater marsh located within the gated community of Litchfield By The Sea (LBTS) and a short walk to the pristine Litchfield beach and pool. Escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and enjoy the stunning coastal Carolina sunsets from the oversized deck off the back or a hammock below at this peaceful retreat.

This villa has been meticulously renovated blending modern touches with coastal charm and everything is brand new. When we say "everything is brand new" we mean everything. All new appliances, new furniture, new HVAC systems, new floors, new TVs, new light fixtures, etc. The villa features a custom fully equipped kitchen with quartz counter tops, flat top range, and other modern appliances.

MAIN FLOOR: 1 bedroom (with 1 queen and 1 twin XL bed) with ceiling fan, full bath, open floor plan with kitchen, dining, and living area that opens to sundeck with saltmarsh view.

SECOND FLOOR: 1 bedroom (with 1 King) with ceiling fan, full bath, kids ensuite (with 1 twin)

AMENITIES: Flat screen smart TVs (with cable) in living room and both bedrooms, wireless internet access, an outside shower with hot and cold water, microwave, dishwasher, full size washer/dryer, covered patio, covered parking, private community pool.

ACCESSIBLE AMENITIES: Miles of soft sandy beach, oceanfront clubhouse with large deck area with sun shades, bathrooms and multiple rinsing showers. Community swimming pool, 5 lighted outdoor tennis courts and 2 pickleball courts, biking and walking/jogging paths, lakeside fishing, and close proximity to prominent golf courses and trendy eateries.

BEACH ACCESS: 4-5 minute walk

HOUSEKEEPING / LINENS: Full departure clean service after every guest, bed linens and bath towels provided with beds made upon arrival. Bath towels, hand towels, face cloths, and bathmats. (Does not include beach towels)

PARKING: covered parking available

LENGTH OF STAY: Weekly stays only in summer (some partial weeks available). Partial week stays available during off season.

No smoking and Community rules do not permit renters to bring pets.

We opted for a place to stay at Litchfield By The Sea that had marsh views, and we were not disappointed. The deck overlooking the marsh is a great place to enjoy your morning coffee. Everything else about this unit in Heron Marsh Villas is wonderfully updated. Comfortable beds

This was the best organized rental we have used. Communication was exceptional, rental has been recently renovated and is very clean . Close to the beach and pickle ball courts. Litchfield is a great gated community. Highly recommend Barefeet retreat

The villa was clean and well stocked. It was a great location- near the pickleball/tennis courts and the beach. The community is close to shopping, restaurants and tourist attractions. Communicating with the owner was excellent as was the guide that was provided.

Spectacularly Clean Villa

This was a quick weekend getaway - and unlike most of my trips - spontaneous and unplanned. After weeks of dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, I decided a break was needed from the constant scenes of destruction... caution tape, debris piles, military convoys, water supply stations, portable showers etc. Boy did I luck out finding this property!! The "newly renovated" wording caught my eye, and I love Litchfield By The Sea. Amazingly this place was available on short notice and so off we went. It is a beautiful, spectacularly clean, and well appointed villa. The virtual guest info site was super helpful and the hosts were friendly and responsive. The beds were comfy, the linens high quality (I notice things like that! šŸ˜Š) with simple, modern decor. Loved the deck furniture too. The kitchen was also very well stocked. Since we haven't had clean running water back home, we've been mostly eating pre-packaged food. When I saw how clean the villa's kitchen was, and how well stocked the cupboards and drawers were - I realized it would be fun to cook! Usually vacation for me is all about eating out and finding great restaurants. So this was a switch! But it was fun to find myself in an extremely clean kitchen complete with different types of cooking oil and even fresh unopened spices. There was also a coffee station with a fresh bag of coffee! Overall, I get the impression that the owners care for this place as if they themselves live there. I hope to return!!

We have stayed in the Heron Marsh area for over 10 years at Litchfield by the Sea and this is the most updated and modern equipped villa we have used. Owner has great communication and of course the villa is as advertised. I highly recommend.

Pleasant stay

My third visit to LBTS, and my family and I enjoyed staying at this condo. Besides being nicely remodeled and simply and attractively decorated, the owners have included a number of features that contribute to a pleasant stay. These features include comfortable beds (not too hard and not too soft), quality bed linens, good shower heads, comfortable seating, and blackout curtains in the downstairs bedroom, and I think the upstairs one as well. And importantly, we had the use of beach chairs and umbrellas. The owner was communicative and very helpful in answering questions. We wish it were a little closer to the beach but loved the beautiful marsh view. A great condo!

Amazing and Well Appointed Condo

We loved this condo- probably the best VRBO weā€™ve stayed in. The owners were super helpful pre-check in sending info on the area and all details for checking in (and out). The condo is stocked with everything you could need- from beach chairs and toys to coffee, basic kitchen items, books and puzzles, etc. Iā€™d highly recommend staying here if youā€™re headed to Litchfield!!

Great family getaway

We enjoyed the quiet, scenic, community vibe of this property! We spent most of our time in the nearby pool or of course the ocean, so it was nice to be walkable! The selection of water toys and accessories at the property were a nice bonus. The hammock was a family favorite. Kitchen was stocked for all the cooking needs we had during our stay, another bonus! Definitely check out the PIT for a local staple not listed on the property guide. We tried the Eco Tour in Murrellā€™s Inlet and that was a huge disappointment, probably the only ā€œbadā€ moment of the five day trip (which when traveling with kids is a pretty solid win). Overall a great trip and many thanks to Scott for the swift communication and great hospitality! PS- master bed needs a mattress pad or something a little softer, just our personal opinion. Splitting hairs, it is a great stay and highly recommend to anyone!

We had a wonderful stay at Barefeet Retreat. Weā€™ve been traveling to this resort for 10 years and this was the nicest renovated unit by far! Every detail was thought of, from the organizational of the kitchen, to the location of lighting throughout the unit, a cozy eating area, and updated bathrooms. The unit had an amazing view of the marsh which was beautiful and relaxing. This was the first time we stayed ā€œoffā€ the beachfront, but we didnā€™t miss it one bit because the accommodations were so nice, clean, and updated. The owners were very responsive and made the experience very easy. We look forward to returning!

Beautiful condo located near amenities and a beautiful beach!

Body: We just returned from a week stay at Barefeet Retreat. It was one of the nicest and most conveniently located homes we have ever stayed at! Not only was the condo beautiful and spotless on our arrival, it was literally just across the street from a beautiful pool, and just a five minute walk to a stunning beach. The whole community is beautifully landscaped- we truly felt like we were on vacation. The condo itself was just as nice as the pictures showed, with a large deck overlooking a marsh that attracts a lot of beautiful birds. The owner takes great care to make your stay comfortable and relaxing and provides a detailed guide to both the villa and the general Pawley's Island area. Although we had no problems that we had to contact him about, Scott (the owner) reached out to us after a couple of days to make sure everything was going well and to see if we needed anything. The complex is quiet and well maintained and there are tons of places to eat in the area. We even took a day trip to Charleston since it was only about an hour and a half drive away! We highly recommend this home to anyone who wants a worry free, relaxing vacation- perfect for families, couples or friends! We are already talking about a return trip!

Most places you rent fail to meet expectations. This property has EVERYTHING in terms of what you want at the beach. The kitchen has all of the miscellaneous items you need. All of the beach gear, towels and toys are in the laundry room. The pool passes are hanging on the fridge. We will be back!

Wonderful spring break trip!

This was our family's first time visiting Pawley's Island and we loved the Litchfield community and this villa in particular. The villa was clean and remodeled beautifully with attention to every detail. It felt like home from the moment we walked in and throughout the trip my husband and I commented on the various finishing touches and decor they chose. We loved staying in Litchfield as it felt like a resort area. The beach was a short 5 minute walk with our 4 & 5 year old kids. Each morning we walked to the beach to see the sunrise and have a breakfast picnic. The community is beautiful with lots of palmettos and I enjoyed a walk each morning. The beach was gorgeous with soft sand and we saw dolphins swimming our first day. The waves were perfect for our kids to play in and there were plenty of seashells to collect. We never felt like it got too crowded and overall was a great family atmosphere. There are restrooms by the beach as well as beach ramp access so we could easily pull our wagon. We loved that the villa is close to a lot of great restaurants - our favorites were Frank's and Hot Fish Club (short drive away in Murrell's Inlet). There's a Starbucks within Litchfield which was convenient. Rosie's Pizzeria was great for a relaxing dinner to eat on the balcony after a long beach day and we loved getting aƧaƭ bowls at Anything Froz and Parlor Doughnuts for breakfast. There are many family activities within driving distance, which was nice to mix it up with beach days for a week long vacation. The Hammock Shops at Pawley's was the most adorable shopping village we'd ever seen. We also enjoyed visiting Broadway at the Beach (~35 mins), Barefoot Landing (~50 mins) and Market Commons (~30 mins) which had a lot of cute shopping and activities. Before we headed home on our last day, we also did mini golf at Runaway Bay but there were several options nearby. We did not make it to Brookgreen Gardens but is on our list for next time! The only downside: there were a lot of bugs that bit us in the morning and early evening, both on the beach and balcony overlooking the marsh which wasn't pleasant. We picked up bug spray mid-trip which helped, but they were a bit fierce! We hadn't experienced that on any other beach trip so not sure if it's seasonal (we went early April) or unique to the area. Overall it was a wonderful family trip and we would love to stay at this same villa again in the future!
