The Space:
Serendipity by Tiny Away sits on the edge of the peaceful town of Parkes, just three hours from the bustling city of Canberra. This charming tiny house is one of Parkes’ inviting holiday homes, nestled amidst the beauty of the Aussie bush and offering access to our expansive 18-acre property.
Set on a gentle slope with views of farmland, dams, and native plants, this tiny house is the perfect base to explore Old Dubbo Gaol, Taronga Western Plains Zoo, and the charming heritage streets of Cowra—just an hour away.
A cozy 139-square-foot tiny home with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette with portable electric cooktop (single burner), cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly compost toilet, hand basin, and gas-heated shower.
IMPORTANT NOTE: There will be some animal and farmyard noise during your stay with us. For light sleepers, we recommend bringing earplugs for a well-rested stay.
Guest Access:
Guests can access the tiny home and explore our 18-acre farm. In warm weather, take a dip in the pool; in cooler months, relax around the fire pit.
Feel free to pick ripe seasonal produce from the gardens, and feed the chooks and guinea fowls with any food scraps.
The Neighborhood:
Serendipity is just outside Parkes, about 3 hours from Canberra. Parkes is best known for the Dish, a giant radio telescope, and the popular annual Elvis Festival. It’s also home to the Parkes Observatory, which helped with the Apollo 11 moon landing.
Nearby, we recommend visiting Old Dubbo Gaol, a former prison turned museum, and Taronga Western Plains Zoo. Other great spots include Cowra with its historic charm, the lively city of Dubbo, and Orange, famous for its wines, food, and scenic views.
