We had an amazing exotically decorated suite with a lounge, bedroom, large bathroom with bath and walk in shower and a separate toilet. The large indoor plants in the lounge gave a jungle effect and it was nice to be able to open the double doors to the Juliet balcony to look over the rooftops of the 5th arrondissement, especially at dawn and sunset. The bar was decorated in a 19th century style and doubled as the breakfast room. Excellent breakfast including facility for cooking your own boiled eggs, timers supplied. Staff were friendly and helpful and made great coffee.
The hotel is within short walking distance of the Rue Mouftard with its wonderful food options and village atmosphere and there are seven or eight good restaurants within a couple of minutes walk. The restaurant across the street, Le Grand Dictionnaire, is really good with excellent vegetarian dishes as well as the usual option’s and well priced. I even found a really good hairdresser in the Rue Mange who gave me a very stylish haircut. Although we were there a week, it flew by as there was so much to enjoy. Excellent location for walking to points of interest including the Jardin des Plantes with its menagerie which includes a large flock of very colorful flamingos and the Grand Mosque. Very comfortable hotel with a relaxed Parisian feel.
