Ready for an adventure? St. Teresa is a much different vibe than Alligator Point! If you are looking for a relaxing vacation at the beach tucked away in a quaint, safe, wooded and friendly neighborhood where you might see next to no one -- no hotels, no hustle and bustle, and might even have the beach to yourself -- then you've found it!
Our uniquely designed geodesic dome cottage with 2 bedrooms on the main floor + 3rd loft bedroom with full bath puts a little adventure into your trip with its adorable character. It's small, but really cozy with soaring ceilings (everyone says it feels much bigger than it seems in the photos) and includes the amenities you'd expect, like air conditioning, dishwasher, laundry, flat panel smart TVs, and just about everything else you'll need to enjoy your stay. This is a great little place for couples to have a romantic getaway or anyone who wants a quiet, relaxing vacation. **Sorry, but we can no longer allow children under 13 due to risk with our loft ladder, and primary person booking must be at least 25 years old.**
The master bedroom includes a queen bed with new traditional medium-plush mattress and features a private balcony, while the guest bedroom also has a queen bed with a firm mattress but includes a comfy memory foam topper which can be removed for those that like a firm mattress.
The loft bedroom includes two twins and a full bath. The loft is accessed by a wooden loft ladder that is approximately a 10 ft height to the top (no stairs). The upstairs bathroom is a full bath with tub / shower combo.
You'll have Mediacom's high speed Internet capable of streaming multiple TVs, connecting your laptop, etc., with free wifi readily available. Our smart TVs are easy to use on the Roku platform with lots of free content provided through the various apps, but feel free to login to your own accounts like Netflix or Hulu. In addition to the great room TV, you'll also find small smart flat panel TVs in all bedrooms.
Have coffee on the screened front porch and enjoy the Gulf view, or take a less than five minute stroll down to the beach and relax in the ocean breeze. Watch the dolphins play, hunt for shells and look for Starfish, or search for some of the many other cool sea creatures you might encounter . . . or take your fishing pole down to Hannon's Dock for some great fishing! Be sure to look through our photos. Low tide down here can be absolutely mesmerizing!
When you are finished exploring the beach, head back to relax or to cook up your fresh catch of the day. After hitting the outdoor shower to rinse the sand from your feet, you'll find that our open kitchen has all of the basic amenities you might need, including a cook top stove and a small countertop oven and microwave, various dishes, pots, pans, blender, etc. There is a K-cup style coffee machine with complimentary K cups and a traditional brew pot as well. While we do not have a dining table, you'll find bar-seating for four quite ample. Our two large sofas are ultra-comfy and roomy if you prefer to eat in front of the TV like many of us do.
There's no need to pack a ton of clothes! Travel light and easy. The cottage includes a washer and dryer (please note that our well water may discolor your clothes, especially whites / lights, if you were wearing sunscreen as it tends to bond to the sunscreen, so ask us if any questions). It is also equipped with a central heat and air unit for your comfort with a large vent serving the open design of the home. We also have ceiling fans in the bedrooms and provide box fans to aid in air circulation or white noise while sleeping, as may be desired . . . or on a cool night just open the windows and sliding glass doors and fall asleep to the sounds of nature. For winter months, there are portable oil heaters in the closets for supplemental heat if you like it extra toasty in the bedrooms.
With the beach only a short and easy walk away, you really don't need a golf cart, but you are certainly welcome to bring yours. Our beach does NOT allow golf carts directly on the beach, however. I timed and walked it in 4 minutes at a moderate pace, as you are literally 300 yards to the path to the beach and another 100 yards to sand but I was not pulling the cart, so it could take just a little longer for some.
We have a newly rebuilt large outdoor shower and brand new gravel driveway (some photos may not properly represent this).
EVSE / EV charger is a 240 volt up to 40 AMP J1772 (combo type plug) available at our carport for your convenience. We have a Grizzle-E classic. Tesla vehicles will need the appropriate adapter. Not suitable for Chademo. Our AC outlet is locked and not able to be unplugged, so please use our charger.
Our home is located just an hour south of Tallahassee off the beaten path, but is within 20-30 minutes of great seafood and everything you may need while in the area. Be sure to check out Bald Point State Park, Tate's Hell, or even charter a fishing trip nearby at Panacea or Carrabelle. If you are up for a 45 minute drive, then you will love Apalachicola for an afternoon of shopping and nearby St. George Beach for riding the waves (our beach is more calm). We are also just an hour from Tallahassee for anything and everything you might want. But please let us be clear, if you are looking for the touristy areas with hotels, shopping, and crowds right out your back door then this is NOT for you! We do not allow parties, weddings, or other events. This is a quiet neighborhood of folks that look out for each other, but a fantastic place to come and unwind, relax, and find some solitude while enjoying the coast and its natural beauty with old Florida at its best.
The photos accurately represent our home, except improvements as noted above that may not be shown in a few of the outdoor images. Please take time to look through them. Note, we do respect your privacy! In the spirit of full disclosure, we have OUTSIDE security cameras (there are none inside), to help us monitor our home's security and for guest compliance with house rules, such as no pets and number of guests, no parties, etc. Sorry, but we do not allow children under 13 for safety reasons with the loft and ladder. Our booking agreement here includes and requires a liability waiver to book, which is part of the booking agreement when you check out on VRBO. We also do not allow more than six guests at a time to reduce wear and tear on our property. Thanks for your kind understanding.
** Due to risk of injury, fire, or damage to a neighboring property, we do NOT allow fireworks or firearms to be shot / discharged on our property! If booking during a holiday season please keep this in mind before booking! **
Also, please be aware that our boat may be present in the yard during your stay. Please do not touch or disturb it in any way or allow anyone to do so, and please keep your children away from it, as they may tempted to climb upon or play aboard it (they could damage the boat or even be injured, especially around the propeller at the rear of the boat).
Also, owners keep a locked chest, cabinet, and one downstairs bedroom closet -- all of which are NOT accessible to guests.
