The Stauffer House

Welcome to The Stauffer House! This historical home offers character, tranquility and a great location. Built in 1848, The Stauffer House comes with history, while still including all the modern amenities. It also has a Carriage House on it that goes with the listing, that way you have the whole place completely to yourself. It's located just 10 minutes from all the Hershey attractions. Itā€™s listed on the ā€œNational Register of Historic Placesā€ and just won the 2023 Historic Preservation award! This family-friendly home will help make your vacation comfortable and memorable.

Exceeded our expectations!

We only were able to stay 3 days and 2 nights but I immediately fell in love with this home. I kept saying, ā€œ I wish I could move it to our farmā€ in Georgia. It was tidy & accommodating in every aspect. We couldnā€™t find an iron for our wrinkled clothing but maybe somehow we missed it somewhere. The home is huge. Only down side was the noisy traffic out front but the host was very accommodating to our late check out needs.

Really nice house

We enjoyed our time at the home in December. Hershey is just down the street with plenty of places to eat. We would stay here again. 6 adults, 2 youngsters and 2 babes. Owners excellent to work with.

Amazing home for a large family

We had an amazing time at Stauffer House. The house is beautiful just like the pictures on VRBO the house had everything we needed, towels, washcloths, plenty of dishes, silverware, glasses and coffee mugs; there was even infant plates, bowls and utensils. Plenty of pots and pans and even serving dishes. The house is simply outfitted with anything you may need. We had an amazing family weekend and hope to stay at Stauffer House next year when we head to Hershey.

Weekend Ren Faire Getaway

Three day getaway with 9 adults ranging from 19-59. The house was perfect for us. Very clean, spacious and convenient to Ren Faire and Hershey. We had a blast and would rent here again. The host was easy to communicate with and very responsive.

This house is absolutely beautiful..love how it has been restored and maintained with modern anemities but still has the historical feel. Lots of space and the most well stocked place we have ever stayed! Tons of towels, dishes, cookware..EVERYTHING we needed! The carraige house is equally adorable and we appreciated the extra space for our group. Beautiful grounds as well..love that its all fenced in for the kids and for privacy! Cannot say enough good things about this property..we hope to stay again!

Family trip to Hershey park

This house was perfect . Plenty of space for our family including 6 grandchildren . The outdoor space was really nice . The kids enjoyed the pool (plenty of pool toys and towels provided) . There is also plenty of seating around the pool to enjoy a drink or a meal . There is also a large grassy years where we had so much fun playing wiffle ball. The house is so well equipped with everything you might need . One last thing the owner is very responsive !!! We canā€™t wait to come back again !!

Loved the history of the home. Kids loved the pool. Could have used some board games to entertain the kids on rainy days. One of the bedrooms only has access through another bedroom. Overall it worked for our family and the Host was really nice.

Couldnā€™t be more satisfied!

For those of you who love old homes, this is a very nice opportunity. We comfortably had our family of 12 along with a little one in a ā€œpack & play.ā€ The carriage house makes for a great space for people who want to be away from the rest of the guests. We were doing Hershey Park and this was a fantastic location. It is an easy 15 minutes to the park. The entire home has been meticulously upkept. I canā€™t imagine the amount of work it took and takes. But as I said, for those who love older homes, this 1848 gem is wonderful to enjoy. The pool area is clean and relaxing. Plenty of pool things and some corn hole boards. The shade from the trees around make the pool even more inviting when it is really hot! The yard is fenced and you feel like you are in your own little world. I especially enjoyed the layout of the landscaping and gardening. They have kep some older oak trees and a beautiful American Beech. Very nice. The host, Cody, is very responsive and knowledgable. The only thing that some guests may not be keen on is that there are 4 bedrooms upstairs but only one bathroom. Some of the bedrooms have access through other bedrooms, so you may have to go around another way if you donā€™t want to disturb someone in bed. For a family, this isnā€™t a big deal, but some guests might thing it is important. Honestly, it is amazing that this home has been retrofitted with three bathrooms to begin withā€”so it was well worth any inconvenience. I would rent this home again!

Fabulous, Historic Home

I stayed with my family at The Stauffer House. It was clean with many amenities. We had a great time out by the pool during the day or the fire in the evening. There are articles hanging around the house explaining the homeā€™s history, so if youā€™re a history buff or just like old homes, this is the one for you. It has plenty of room and is close to Hershey Park and Chocolate World. Do not hesitate to book. Highly recommend.

A group of us stayed for a dance competition being held at the Hershey Lodge. The house was great. Big enough for all of us. We were 7 people total. The property is beautiful and this historic home is so interesting to be in. We would stay there again if we needed to.

Beautiful House

We were in town for a family wedding. The house is very pretty with 3 different sitting areas, a large table for family meals and a nice, fully equipped kitchen with lots of storage for our groceries. They even had a baskey of toys for the kids. The backyard is lovely, I wish it hadn't been raining so we could have enjoyed it more. There are 4 bedrooms on the top floor but one of the rooms can only be accessed by passing through another bedroom so not great for anyone needing privacy. The house is on a busy road. There is plenty of parking and space to turn around the cars. The lights from the gas station across the street were bright in the front bedroom at night, but an eye mask took care of that problem. The grandparents stayed in the "Barn Shop" which is lovely but it should be noted the bathroom in the barn has an open ceiling so it isn't super private. The historic home has been beautifully restored and we would love to stay here again.

Awesome place for family get together!!!

We had an awesome stay! The grounds are amazing! The kids were outside from early morning & into the night, enjoying the pool, sā€™mores by the fire pit and games in the yard! With the perfect outdoor table to serve buffet & 3 additional tables for seating we ate most of our meals by the pool. The kids also enjoyed the awesome game room in the basement! The rides at Hershey Park and Mt. Gretna Lake & Beach, the playground and the amazing ice cream concoctions at the Jigger Shopā€¦are all only a short 10-15 minute drive! The house & cottage are charming & had plenty of room for all 15 of us ( we brought 3 cots for the youngest kids). It was well stocked with everything from pool towels & rafts to kitchen appliances, dinnerware & comfortable beds & linens. They even had a basket of goodies on the counter when we arrived! Cody was attentive to our every need & quick to respond every time we had a question or concern! The only inconvenience was that in two of the bedrooms you had to walk through a bedroom to get to the bathroom or walk downstairs. I highly recommend Stauffer House!
