The Space:
This 2-bedroom retreat is advantageously located within just a few minutes of exciting city life and all the dining, shopping, and nightlife that comes with it. Or, if youā€™re a nature lover, youā€™ll find hiking trails for any skill level in just about any direction, as well as a variety of challenging golf clubs. Keeping you connected to the outdoors, the home offers a spacious backyard patio with an inground pool. Take a refreshing dip in the sparkling waters and let the sun dry you off as you recline back in one of the comfortable lounge chairs. A shaded area provides needed relief from the sun with a comfortable outdoor sofa, hammock, and table seating.

Heading inside from the patio, youā€™ll find even more delightful and welcoming spaces. The open floor plan provides you and your group with plenty of options to spread out accompanied by relaxed spaces for gathering together. A plush sofa and armchair seating surround a cozy gas fireplace and large mounted smart TV, the perfect cozy atmosphere for music or a movie. A large picture window allows for abundant natural lighting as well as keeping the attractive outdoor views front and center. Steps away, the high-top dining table offers seating for 6, suitable for both meals and a friendly game night. The charming kitchen is fully equipped with appliances, cookware, and dinnerware, including both standard and Keurig coffee makers for your morning pick-me-up. Enjoy your cup in the cozy breakfast nook with built in bench seating and bright, bold colors.

This home comfortably sleeps 4 guests between 2 private bedrooms.

Bedroom #1 includes a king size bed, smart TV, and panoramic windows.

Bedroom #2 includes a king size bed and plentiful natural light.

The location of this home is as appealing as its beautiful design with Downtown Palm Springs less than a 5-minute drive away. The mountains are of course nearby with the popular attraction of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway 20 minutes from the home and trailheads accessible all around.

Make the most of your easy access to Palm Springs which has plenty to explore from its central shopping district with vintage boutiques, interior design shops, chic restaurants, and art galleries to nature adventures like hiking, horseback riding, and biking. Be sure to visit the hot springs, golf courses, and spas which the area is known for. Palm Springs is an amazing geographic location that also puts you within range of day trips to places like Joshua Tree National Park and Coachella.

What a wonderful place! The backyard is amazing. Spent most of our time in the pool/hot tub and on the porch. Would definitely stay here again. Comfy beds to boot.

Five Days in the Desert

Great stay at Mesquite Escape in Palm Springs

We had a great long weekend stay at Mesquite Escape in Palm Springs. The location was terrific for accessing downtown and the local neighborhoods without having to drive far. The house and grounds were also very well-kept and had all the amenities you could need. One of our favorite perks was the pool and backyard area. It's a wonderful space to relax and enjoy a peaceful PS afternoon while listening to birds in the trees and watching the blue skies and nearby mountains. We hope to visit again soon!

Glorious, gorgeous, great!

This house is divine and is absolutely packed with everything you could possibly need, together with thoughtful instructions on how everything works. Wonderful location and neighbourhood. The pool and backyard area is just perfect. We had some issues with the check in process and embarrassingly called the previous letting agent for the door code as the details left for us in the home were out of date. We were a bit disappointed that we couldnā€™t access the spa controls to turn on the jets and were told by the agent that we hadnā€™t paid extra for that. This wasnā€™t clear in the listing (which specified $250 per day for heat, but we just wanted the bubbles). A tiny issue in an otherwise fantastic stay. Thank you Flamingo House and your owner - 1952 was a very good year indeed!

Disappointing - Items not working and not as advertised

A friend and I stayed at this property for five days for MLK weekend in Jan 2023. We had some sun, some rain and cooler temps. We looked forward to sitting outside in the back and inside to talk and write. We were visiting another friend in our Writers' Group. We were disappointed the owners haven't kept the property up to date and many things are deteriorating. We were disappointed with Vacasa, as property managers for not doing simple repairs like attaching door knobs and keeping lights working. There were post-its noting what wasn't working! We sent this list to Vacasa of the problems: 1) The main bathroom and bedroom (by pool) smell like rotten sewage and mold. We are allergic to mold and had allergies during our stay. Those rooms are only useable when the windows are open, which is cold and a safety hazard since they are at ground level. 2) Driveway gate entry keypad doesnā€™t work. Vacasa knew, but gave us a code at in person check-in and let us try. When I called Vacasa back I learned it didn't work (?!) 2B) Driveway gate entry key fob in house only will open or close once. If we wanted to open, leave the driveway, and then close the gate, the gate would not close. Gate box does not respond to the key fob on any second request. 3) Issues around the house were simply noted on post-it notes around the house, as if that made the issues ok. 4) The only outside door that works to the backyard (two others were locked down) had this post-it: ā€œDoor handle falls off.ā€ Once in back, itā€™s difficult to get back in because the handle falls off (it only needs a set screw). 5) Important inside lights do not work. Some are noted on a post-it. The main kitchen light is out. So is laundry room/back hall light, which is the only light at night to the second bathroom. The exterior driveway/breezeway light, visible from the kitchen, laundry room and bathroom, is motion detect and strobes when on, which is distracting. 6) The listing leads one to believe that guests will have two bedrooms with two fully working bathrooms, "perfect for two couples.ā€ However, one bathroom is across the house. The main bathroomā€™s ā€œsoaker tubā€ is a one-person wall tub with a note on it ā€œtub is not operationalā€; its plumbing and tap are closed-off. 7) The bath's retro "features" are rotting and deteriorating. Overall, the house is not as advertised. Location is good, backyard and pool are nice, but can not carry this amount of issues. Repairs and updates are needed.

Cute but dated

The description on VRBO is misleading regarding the bathrooms. There are 2 but neither is attached to a bedroom and 1 is on the other end of the house off the laundry and very tiny. They also need to be updated especially the showers. The house is comfy but very cluttered especially the kitchen cabinets. We had a water line in the bathroom break and had a lot of water which we cleaned up but the carpet was still wet 5 days later. They were responsive to get things fixed but we spent the day laundering all the towels we used to mop up the water. I would hope that Vacasa would refund part of our stay and not just a credit fot future stays. On a positive note the pool, hot tub and backyard were wonderful.

Perfect Family Getaway

This property was perfect for my family getaway. My teenage son and his friend stayed with me. We enjoyed the pool and spa daily. It was the perfect size house that accommodate inside and out. We were close to everything needed in Pam Springs

Xmas stay 2022 in Palm Springs

Tahquitz River Estates Fri, Dec 23 - Wed, Dec 28 Property ID 2817351 Flamingo House in Tahquitz River Estates | Saltwater Pool & Mountain Views. It's a lovely property, clearly well loved and maintained. For us it was a great escape from Seattle's snow storm. We had a lovely stay, area is close to great hikes , and private hot tub and pool were very enjoyable every day after long hikes. It is well stocked for cooking . We would recommend paying for the heating of the pool, we used it cold, however would probably ended up using it even more if it was heated. FYI the control of the hot tub is outside not indoors. A few issues

We did encounter a few problems. While the management company answered the phone quickly the response time was a bit lacking. We were unable to obtain the gate code until late in the evening even tho we were assured someone would call us back within the hour - we called at 4pm and I had to call them back around 8pm. According to the handbook at the property there was supposed to be a remote for the spa but we never found it. They promised to send someone the next day but no one came. The issue was resolved that afternoon when we were told there was a control pad on the fence near the BBQ. The Wi-Fi network is not listed correctly in the handbook. There are many many many remote controls some of which control the A/C for each room. They suggested we set everything to 76, which we did, but the bedrooms only reached 79 and the main space never got below 86. Itā€™s an older home, well cared for and very clean, in a very quiet neighborhood. It is close to everything and stocked very well.

A Fun Retreat!

We loved this property. Once you get used to all the remote controls, itā€™s a quiet, relaxed house with an owner that clearly cares for the place. We had initial issues with the hot tub, but Ann from Turnkey responded promptly to our request and quickly solved our problem. Weā€™d definitely stay here again!

Outdoor space and location!

The house is a bit dated but very clean inside. Pretty much exactly like the pictures. The location was great. The outdoor space is really the best part about this house. It was so spacious and relaxing! The patio surface is getting a little worn and could use some help but it didn't stop us from enjoying the space. 2 downsides: lots of remotes inside, just made things more complicated than they needed to be and when the pool heat was on the temp was perfect but I had the text everyday to remind the owner to turn it on. The property management company was always very responsive though.

Flamingo House in Tahquitz River Estates

What a vacation! Overall we loved our stay at Flamingo House. The house is very clean, relaxing, with all the accommodations you would need in your own home. It is within walking distance of some very good restaurants and just a short drive to local points of interest. We were disappointed to find that the spa is out of order, especially after reading in other reviews that it had been fixed. There are labels on the spa control pad that state that the spa is out of order. If you have time to make a label for something out of order, you have time to list in the listing that it is out of order. One other small issue was the overwhelming use of air fresheners. There were two plug-in type air fresheners in the living room and one auto spray type in the kitchen. We immediately unplugged the two in the living room but it took us the second day to find the one in the kitchen. We ended up putting it on the front porch until we checked out. If you have a sensitive nose or allergies, be prepared to find these and put them out immediately. All in all, this was a great house and we had a great time in Palm Springs.

Paradise in the Desert

The house and property were amazing. They thought of everything you might need from pool toys and towels to a fully stocked kitchen. The place was very clean and the beds were so comfortable. The location is perfect. It is just a few blocks away from downtown. I would absolutely stay there again.
