A clean property. Other than the bugs. I woke up a few times to flies and mosquitoes in my ear. There are flies floating around the room as well. Some staff are nice but others were terrible and in-need of training. I was woken up at 3am to my smoke detector going off over my head. It’s located right above the headboard. I had turned the heat up and I guess the dust set it off. But the man who came into my room was accusatory and totally non-apologetic. He said the fire department was going to be there in minutes but I waited up for an hour and no one came. The next morning the nice maintenance man explained that the detectors are sensitive and steam from showers and dust set the alarm off. I was paranoid my entire stay that it would go off again. It was LOUD like a school bell. I told the manager about this and he repeated all the reasons why it happened but no compensation for a wrecked stay.
This place is VERY overpriced. The pool is small and doesn’t get afternoon sun due to being in the middle of all the tall buildings. I was on the 1st floor and could hear every step of the person above. The air-conditioner was LOUD. I could hear all the breakfast people chatting and laughing early in the morning. I’ve stayed other places in Palm Springs that were cheaper but a better experience.
Not close to anything except a couple expensive restaurants. I don’t recommend the Bistro in the hotel.
Definitely will not stay again. Also what is up with the cancer-plaque upon entry?
